Based in Kuala Lumpur and working as part of a global team, you’ll lead regional network transformation, support reliable day-to-day operations, and manage projects independently with minimal supervision.\nWe are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and collaborative, takes ownership of their work, and seeks opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.\nResponsibilities:\nLead network transformation initiatives across APAC, delivering upgrades and scalable network architecture.\nManage tasks and projects independently, from planning through deployment.\nAdminister Internet connectivity, LANs, dynamic routing, VPNs, firewalls, and Wi-Fi across Monks’ global sites.\nResolve network incidents within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), communicating clearly throughout.\nMaintain and administer network assets from our Kuala Lumpur office.\nPlan and deploy network changes, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.\nAutomate routine operational and maintenance tasks.\nMonitor, analyze, and report on network service performance.\nAbout You\nThe essentials:\nProven experience as a mid to senior Network Engineer, with the ability to drive regional network initiatives independently.\nA proactive approach to owning network stability, improvements, and project delivery.\nA track record of resolving network incidents within demanding SLAs.\nRelevant network and firewall certifications, preferably Fortinet NSE 4, 5, 6, 7, or equivalent.\nHands-on experience with Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiManager.\nHands-on experience with wireless technologies, including Aruba Wireless, FortiAP, UniFi, and Extreme Networks.\nHands-on experience with Juniper routers and switches.\nExperience with fiber optic networks at various speeds.\nDeep knowledge of DNS, DHCP, routing and switching, and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.\nStrong network troubleshooting and documentation skills.\nExperience with network monitoring tools, preferably Zabbix and LibreNMS.\nFluent spoken and written English.\nStrong interpersonal, collaboration, and time management skills.\nThe ability to learn quickly, share knowledge, and adapt to new technologies.\nSelf-motivation, attention to detail, and a calm, balanced approach under pressure.\nNot a Must but a Plus:\nIntermediate Linux experience, including an understanding of how Linux systems work.\nKnowledge of Windows operating systems and services, including Active Directory, Certificate Authority, and NPS.\nExperience with virtualization.\nExperience writing scripts for administration and automation, preferably in Python.\nAt Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive.
