Monks is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the Delhi-based team delivering rapid-turn editorial and marketing content. This senior, client-facing role will oversee day-to-day operations across multiple shifts, ensuring work is properly prioritized, staffed, trafficked, reviewed and delivered.

The ideal candidate is a process-oriented operational leader who can bring structure to a complex, fast-moving environment. You will manage regional capacity and team performance, partner closely with the US-based Monks leadership team and serve as a senior point of contact for client stakeholders.

An interest in AI, emerging technology and new approaches to creative production is essential. All briefs, client communications and creative deliverables will be in English.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead day-to-day operations for the Delhi-based creative team across multiple shifts and workstreams.
  • Serve as a senior regional contact for client stakeholders and Monks leadership.
  • Oversee intake, prioritization, staffing, production, review, approval and final delivery.
  • Translate incoming demand into clear capacity plans, assignments, timelines and escalation paths.
  • Manage and support producers or project managers responsible for individual shifts and deliverables.
  • Maintain visibility across active work, team capacity, deadlines, risks, dependencies and approvals.
  • Establish clear operating standards across shifts, including intake, documentation, QA, handoffs and delivery.
  • Ensure cross-shift handoffs include current status, decisions, open questions, source files and next actions.
  • Use sound judgment to determine when work should continue within a shift and when a regional handoff will improve speed.
  • Partner closely with US-based Monks leadership to align priorities, processes, staffing and client communications.
  • Build productive client relationships and provide clear recommendations when priorities, timing or capacity conflict.
  • Consolidate feedback, resolve operational ambiguity and escalate only when client direction or approval is genuinely required.
  • Maintain senior oversight of producer-level QA, version control, asset packaging and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor service levels and operational performance, identifying recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop reporting around volume, turnaround times, capacity, workflow health and team performance.
  • Support team onboarding, training and retention of program-specific knowledge.
  • Partner with creative, editorial and technical leaders to maintain quality without slowing delivery.
  • Work with AI and creative technology specialists to improve workflows, automation and production efficiency.
  • Maintain discretion when working with confidential and highly sensitive information.

Experience You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in creative operations, production, program management or project management within an agency, technology company or in-house creative organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large or multi-shift creative production teams.
  • Strong client-facing experience and confidence communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing rapid-turn digital, web, editorial, design and motion deliverables.
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes and maintain operational consistency across teams and shifts.
  • Strong capacity-planning, resource-management, trafficking and delivery-management skills.
  • Experience leading and developing producers, project managers or other operational team members.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of creative and technical QA.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, make informed decisions and navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience partnering across regions, time zones and organizational functions.
  • Ability to distinguish critical issues from lower-priority feedback and provide practical resolution paths.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English is required, as all briefs, client communications and creative deliverables will be in English.
  • Clear executive communication, documentation and presentation skills.
  • Interest in AI, emerging technology and production innovation.
  • Ability to support a nontraditional operating model and participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations.

Working Model

This is a hybrid leadership role supporting a global, shift-based production model. The Operations Director will oversee teams working across early morning, evening, overnight and other nontraditional schedules. The role requires sufficient flexibility to maintain leadership coverage across shifts, support planned weekend and holiday rotations and respond to urgent operational priorities. Schedules and coverage expectations will be established in advance wherever possible.
