You’ll partner closely with Account Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, maintain accurate forecasting and reporting, support revenue recognition, and help ensure strong financial controls across client engagements.\nWe are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can work independently, communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, and translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport the financial management of assigned clients, including revenue, costs, profitability, forecasting, and financial reporting.\nPrepare and maintain monthly revenue forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities and communicating key changes to Finance leadership.\nSupport monthly and quarterly close activities, including revenue recognition, accruals, deferred revenue, and related balance sheet reconciliations.\nReview project financials to ensure revenue and costs are recognized accurately and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.\nPartner with Account and Operations teams to monitor project budgets, scopes, staffing, utilization, and overall client profitability.\nAnalyze actual financial performance against budget and forecast and provide clear explanations for material variances.\nMonitor client billing, accounts receivable, work-in-progress, and other financial balances to identify and resolve aged or outstanding items.\nSupport the preparation and maintenance of client rate cards, staffing plans, and financial models.\nAssist with client and project setup to ensure appropriate financial structures and controls are established.\nPrepare financial reporting and analysis for Finance and business leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.\nSupport internal and external audit requests by preparing accurate and complete financial documentation.\nIdentify opportunities to improve and standardize financial processes, reporting, and controls.\nCollaborate across Finance, Account Management, Operations, Billing, Accounting, and other teams to resolve financial issues and support business decisions.\nAbout You\nThe essentials:\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.\n3-5+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Client Finance, Commercial Finance, Accounting, or a related role.\nStrong understanding of financial statements, revenue recognition, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.\nAdvanced Excel or Google Sheets skills with the ability to work with and analyze large data sets.\nStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to identify financial risks and translate data into actionable business insights.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.\nProactive and solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.\nComfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.\nNot a Must but a Plus:\nExperience within advertising, media, digital marketing, professional services, or another project-based business.\nExperience supporting large or complex client accounts.\nKnowledge of IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles.\nExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.\nExperience with project-based financial management, including time and materials, fixed-fee, and retainer engagements.\nExperience with process improvement, financial systems implementations, or automation initiatives.\nAt Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive.
