We foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where authentic collaboration fuels industry-changing work.\nThe Role\nMonks is seeking an experienced client-facing Senior Data Engineer (Marketing & BI) to drive data and analytics delivery across marketing, audience, and e-commerce engagements for both small and large enterprise clients. \nThis is a hands-on role that blends business and data responsibilities. Your time will be split approximately 70% on client delivery and 30% internal (capability building, reusable assets, innovation, growth, etc). You’ll be focused on SQL-based data modeling and analytics delivery, and you’ll run client workshops and stakeholder management, while also building out solutions in the broader BI space, executing technical implementations across a range of analytics and cloud data platforms.\nThe ideal candidate has a history of working with modern data products (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift), and a proven track record of experience with the modern data stack based on cloud technologies, including data transformation, orchestration, warehousing and modelling, as well as BI and dashboard design using tools like Looker Studio, Power BI or Tableau.\nIn this role, you’ll help clients shape data pathways, translate data into insights and needs-based recommendations, deploy and configure the right tools, and improve data reliability, speed to insight, and KPI consistency. Working in the broader Data capability at Monks, this position offers opportunities for growth within our wider APAC data team with clear channels of progression into more senior roles, the ability to participate in innovation on projects and product development, and the potential to advance the practice of analytics and data from the forefront.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead requirements discovery and translate business questions into data/measurement solutions.\nDesign data models (dimensional/star schemas) to support scalable reporting and self-serve analytics.\nDesign and model data across various cloud data warehouses (BigQuery/Snowflake/Databricks/Redshift) from marketing, web/app, and e-commerce sources; exact platform varies by client.\nArticulate, design and develop BI dashboards and custom reporting experiences using tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI and Tableau.\nEstablish data quality, monitoring, documentation, and governance practices.\nPartner with analytics/measurement teams on tracking approaches (GA4/GTM) to ensure usable downstream data.\nPresent insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders; influence roadmaps, estimation and prioritisation.\nContribute reusable assets (templates, data patterns, dashboard standards) to the wider Monks APAC data capability.\nWhat You'll Bring\n4+ years in data engineering / analytics engineering / BI engineering.\n2+ years in client-facing delivery, consultancy or agency preferred.\nExpert SQL skills, primarily in an ETL/ELT context; we are BigQuery first, but some Python is also favoured.\nStrong dimensional modeling (star schemas), warehouse design, and metric/KPI definition for analytics use cases.\nExperience with BigQuery and at least one other cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, etc).\nExperience building BI dashboards (Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau).\nComfortable collaborating and presenting cross-functionally to stakeholders; writing clear documentation.\nYou are self-driven, proactive, resourceful, intellectually curious, and detail-oriented.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nNice to Have\nHands-on experience with mainstream analytics platforms and data collection approaches, including Google Marketing Platform tooling (GTM, GA4, etc).\nExperience with transformation and orchestration tools including dbt, Airflow, Dagster or Prefect.\nFamiliarity with broader enterprise BI platforms such as Looker (LookML/custom visualisations) or Datorama.\nAn understanding of the adtech/martech/data landscape; CRM & CDP familiarity is a strong plus.\nExperience executing technical projects and/or managing enterprise clients end-to-end from inception to delivery.\nCurrent professional certifications in the field of Data Engineering or Analytics.\nAbout Monks\nMonks is the global, digital-first, data-driven, unitary operating brand of S4Capital plc, where our culture centers on how we show up for the work and for one another.
