With HQs, bureaux and shops in Paris, Zürich, Tokyo, Merano and Hong Kong, we are a global team and proud to be a vital source of inspiration, analysis and ideas for our discerning audience.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for passionate and experienced baristas to join our team at The Monocle Café in Toronto.\nLocated on College Street in Little Italy, our newly refurbished shop and café bring together speciality coffee, fresh pastries and a smart selection of Monocle products in a welcoming, thoughtfully designed space featuring furniture by Swiss design brand USM.\nWe are seeking enthusiastic individuals who share our passion for excellent coffee, warm hospitality and attention to detail. As part of a small and dedicated team, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering a consistently high standard of service.\nThe successful candidates will be responsible for:\nPreparing and serving high-quality espresso-based coffees, filter coffee and a selection of other beverages.\nDemonstrating strong barista skills and a thorough understanding of speciality coffee, including extraction, milk preparation and presentation.\nProviding friendly, attentive and professional customer service while building relationships with regular customers.\nDeveloping a thorough understanding of our menu, products and the Monocle brand.\nMaintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the café.\nEnsuring proper use, cleaning and maintenance of coffee equipment.\nAccurately processing customer orders and payments.\nSupporting the team with stock management, daily opening and closing procedures.\nAssisting with Monocle events, launches and other special occasions.\nPrevious experience in a speciality-coffee environment is essential.
