This position provides engineering support to the Maintenance by identifying chronic equipment issues, developing corrective actions, improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and leading projects that increase equipment uptime, safety, quality, and operating efficiency.\nThe Maintenance Engineer serves as a technical resource for injection molding equipment, recycling equipment, automation, robotics, auxiliary equipment, utilities, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure. The role works closely with Maintenance, Production, Tooling, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership to resolve equipment issues and develop sustainable solutions\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nAnalyze equipment failures, downtime, and recurring maintenance issues to identify root causes and eliminate chronic problems.\nProvide engineering support for injection molding machines, robots, automation, conveyors, thermolators, chillers, dryers, material handling systems, compressors, and other auxiliary equipment.\nLead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities for significant or recurring equipment failures.\nDevelop and implement solutions that improve equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability.\nIdentify equipment failure trends and develop improvement plans based on maintenance and downtime data.\nDevelop, improve, and sustain preventive maintenance (PM) programs for production and facility equipment.\nEvaluate PM frequencies and tasks based on equipment history, manufacturer recommendations, failure patterns, and operating conditions.\nIdentify opportunities to implement predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, ultrasonic inspection, or other condition-monitoring methods.\nReview PM effectiveness and eliminate unnecessary or ineffective maintenance activities.\nEstablish equipment standards and maintenance requirements for critical assets.\nDevelop a strong understanding of injection molding processes and the interaction between machines, molds, robots, and auxiliary equipment.\nSupport troubleshooting of molding machine controls, hydraulics, electrical systems, temperature control, screw recovery, injection systems, and associated equipment.\nSupport equipment setup, commissioning, and optimization.\nData Analysis & Continuous Improvement\nCompile and analyze maintenance, downtime, failure, and equipment performance data.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce unplanned downtime, maintenance cost, and repeat failures.\nDevelop dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators for equipment reliability.\nUse data to prioritize maintenance improvement opportunities based on business impact.\nLead continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, cost reduction, and process stability.\nApply Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies, including 5S, root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, and structured corrective action.\nCapital Projects & Equipment Implementation\nProvide engineering support for new equipment purchases, replacements, upgrades, and capital projects.\nDevelop equipment specifications and participate in equipment/vendor selection.\nSupport installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification of new equipment.\nCoordinate with vendors, contractors, electricians, technicians, and internal stakeholders during equipment projects.\nEnsure new equipment is properly documented and incorporated into the maintenance program.\nIdentify opportunities to improve existing equipment through automation, controls upgrades, energy reduction, or design modifications.\nMaintenance Systems & Documentation\nSupport the development and improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\nEnsure equipment records, PM procedures, bills of materials, manuals, and technical documentation are accurate and maintained.\nDevelop troubleshooting guides, standard work, maintenance procedures, and equipment standards.\nIdentify critical spare parts and support development of appropriate inventory levels.\nEstablish equipment criticality rankings and maintenance priorities.\nSafety & Compliance\nEnsure maintenance engineering activities support a safe working environment.\nIncorporate machine guarding, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and other applicable safety requirements into equipment improvements.\nSupport investigations of equipment-related safety incidents and corrective actions.\nEnsure engineering modifications comply with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.\nExperience in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.\nDemonstrated experience with root cause analysis and equipment reliability improvement.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and
