A Day in the Life:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Manager to oversee the Trade Promotions Accounting team. Requires regular oversight of day-to-day operations as well as a strong accounting background for month end and quarter end closing activities. The Senior Manager will be a critical partner across various external and internal teams and as such, should provide a high level of customer service both externally to partners and internally to Monster Energy employees across all departments and levels. Creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate. This role will be responsible for monitoring and managing system related support requests for current/future accounting platforms insuring timely issue resolutions and process efficiencies.
The Impact You'll Make:
Financial Close
- Prepare/Review journal entries and account reconciliations as needed to adjust trade promo accruals
- Review and post agreements related to trade promotions
- Assume overall responsibility for the completeness, accuracy and integrity of source data. Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with agreed reporting standards
Financial Reporting
- Analyze monthly and ad hoc variances across accounts. Prep/Finalize Agreement Analysis file
- Fluctuations analysis and investigate deviations from forecasts, budgets, and prior periods
- Partner with Accounting, Sales, and RGM teams to explain drivers of financial performance
- Provide basic interpretation of results to support business decision-making
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between all teams
- Respond to inquiries regarding financial results and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in reporting and data accuracy
Process & Controls Support
- Ensure compliance with internal controls requirements and documentation standards
- Assist in maintaining data integrity and adherence to accounting policies
- Document current processes and standard operating procedures
- Evaluations, training, system testing and other special projects as needed
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, MBA or 3+ years of Big 4 or other public accounting experience preferred
- 6+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups)
- Experience with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA systems and reporting tools is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance partners
- Experience with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA systems, Blackline, BW, BI, Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access & PowerPoint
Monster Energy provides competitive total compensation. The estimated annual salary range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Pay Range
$129,000—$172,000 USD
