The Chief Engineer will be directly responsible for the day to day operation of the Weiler mechanical plant, heating ventilation and air conditioning plant, electrical distribution, off site properties as well as the entire hospital infrastructure. This position will be responsible for the management and supervision of approximately 13 FTE's including all power plant personnel, watch supervision, refrigeration engineers, mechanics and managerial personnel. The Chief Engineer will insure the safe and continuous operation of the Weiler mechanical plant.\nEssential Functions\nSupervise Engineering Operations Supervisors and Watch engineering in the day to day operations of the Weiler mechanical plant and operations of maintenance staff.\nPlan and supervise installation of modifications to Weiler mechanical Plant and hospital infrastructure.\nDevelop and implement preventative maintenance programs for the Weiler mechanical plant, hospital facility and off site properties.\nInteract with architects, consultants, and contractors.\nLife Safety and regulatory Programs.\nEnsure employees are formally trained on operation of all Weiler mechanical plant and refrigeration equipment.\nMaintain harmonious working relationships with other departments and plant.\nSet up formal inventory program with sufficient inventory on hand and proper documentation for incoming and outgoing material.\nMaintain staff levels commensurate with Weiler mechanical plant and Engineering staff needs.\n Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree. Required\n4-6 years power plant or steam plant experience. Required\nA minimum of five (5) years of experience in a hospital setting with increasing responsibility.
