Working collaboratively with faculty, content experts, program leaders, and Clinical Simulation Program (CSP) staff, the Clinical Simulation Educator develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates simulation-based educational activities that enhance clinical competency, critical thinking, and patient safety. The incumbent serves as a simulation specialist by programming, testing, and facilitating simulation scenarios, ensuring faculty, learners, equipment, and resources are prepared for successful teaching and learning experiences.\nEssential Responsibilities\nCollaborate with faculty, simulation staff, and clinical departments to design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation-based educational programs and events.\nDevelop learning objectives, clinical scenarios, curricula, assessment tools, and educational resources aligned with organizational and program goals.\nFacilitate simulation learning activities and create a safe, supportive learning environment for participants.\nProgram, test, troubleshoot, and operate high-fidelity simulators, virtual reality systems, task trainers, and other simulation technologies.\nCoordinate simulation event logistics, including room setup, equipment preparation, moulage, supplies, and audiovisual resources.\nPartner with instructors and subject matter experts to ensure simulations accurately reflect clinical practice and achieve learning objectives.\nConduct debriefing sessions and provide educational coaching to support learner development and performance improvement.\nTrain faculty and staff on simulation methodologies, educational technologies, and simulator operations.\nMaintain documentation related to simulation activities, program evaluations, faculty development, and participant outcomes.\nAssist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory management, and vendor coordination to ensure operational readiness.\nSupport research, quality improvement initiatives, and innovative educational projects utilizing simulation-based learning.\nParticipate in the development and implementation of new technologies, virtual learning platforms, and emerging educational strategies.\nCollaborate across multiple Montefiore Einstein campuses to support simulation and clinical education initiatives.\nQualifications Education Required\nBachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education, Allied Health, or a related discipline.\nMaster's degree in Education, Simulation, Healthcare, Nursing, or a related field.\nExperience Required\n1-3 years of experience utilizing simulation, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, or emerging educational technologies in healthcare education.\n1-3 years of experience in clinical, nursing, or allied health education, including curriculum development and learner assessment.\n4-6 years of healthcare experience setting.\nExperience supporting quality improvement, patient safety, or process improvement initiatives.\nLicensure & Certification Required\nCertification in Healthcare Simulation or equivalent simulation credential upon hire or within an established timeframe.\nPreferred\nCurrent New York State professional license in a healthcare discipline, such as:Registered Nurse (RN)\nNurse Practitioner (NP)\nPhysician Assistant (PA)\nPhysician\nRespiratory Therapist\nEmergency Medical Technician (EMT)\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong knowledge of simulation-based education principles and best practices.\nExperience with computerized manikins, virtual reality, standardized patients, and other simulation modalities.\nExcellent facilitation, coaching, and debriefing skills.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse learner populations.\nStrong organizational, project management, and time management abilities.\nAbility to effectively prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.\nTechnical aptitude in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting simulation equipment and educational technologies.\nCommitment to continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in healthcare education.\nWorking Conditions\nPrimarily based in a clinical simulation laboratory and educational environment.\nTravel between Montefiore Einstein campuses may be required.\nOccasional lifting, equipment setup, and movement of simulation supplies and technology.\nExposure to simulation and healthcare training environments.\nMontefiore Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
