Responsible or billing, collection and related issues, such as edits, correspondence and accounts receivables. Other secretarial and clerical duties as required. Assist with the daily operations of the practice as needed.\nEssential Functions\nVerifies CPT-4 codes and identifies principal and secondary ICD-10 codes* Coding is 100% accurate\n\nReviews all physician documentation in EPF for appropriate billing and coding* Coding is 100% accurate to maximize reimbursement\n\nReviews all TES/Medicode coding edits* Coding is 100% accurate\n\nReviews and resolves all coding denials* Unpaid claims are reduced in a timely manner to maximize reimbursement\n\nGathers, clarifies and verifies necessary patient treatment documentation from inpatient care areas* Documentation is obtained on a daily basis to ensure prompt and accurate billing to decrease billing lag days\n\nGenerates all physician inpatient charges* Charges are complete and accurate\n\nReconciles inpatient discharge report against EPF to capture all patient billing* Billing is complete and accurate to enhance charge entry process turn-around time\n\nCommunicates with physicians to verify and clarify chart documentation* Charges accurately reflect documented treatment\n\nAssists in the training of new associates* New associates are properly trained\n\nOther duties as assigned* Assists with special projects and other functions as required\n\nPractices and promotes Montefiore Standards of Excellence (R-E-S-P-E-C-T)\nQualifications\nHigh School Required \nBA Preferred \n1-3 years 3 years EPIC Electronic Medical Records System, clerical experience involving patient registration/billing/coding. Required \nThe successful incumbent will be an energetic, focused team player with a positive outlook. \nShe/he must posses' excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented, able to produce high volumes of accurate work and remain flexible. \nShe/he will be able to take direction and ask questions appropriately; be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; demonstrate ability to enter alpha/numeric data quickly; read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions; and work independently. \nCommunicate new issues within a timely manner. \nComputers and applicable software, copiers, calculators and other routine office machines. \nMust be independent, able to multi task and exhibit strong interpersonal skills. \nMust be proficient in MS Word and/or Excel.
