We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.\n***Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. ** *\nThe listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment.\nThe hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.\nDuring the academic year part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hour) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.\nDuring summer part-time faculty at Montgomery College\nDuties include but are not limited to:\nTeach Introduction to Human Communication courses.\nTeach a varied schedule of courses that may include day, night, weekend and/or accelerated sections, online or on another campus if needed. Opportunities may exist for teaching summer classes.\nTeach one or more sections of the Introduction to Human Communication course in area high schools as part of the dual-enrollment program.\nEngage students in their learning through active collaborative learning approaches.\nIncorporate the use of educational enterprise platform such as Blackboard and other relevant technology into instruction, including inexpensive or no-cost resources in the development and delivery of instruction.\nApply culturally relevant pedagogies to the teaching and learning process.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree or higher in Human Communication or Communication Studies with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline.\nExperience teaching Introduction to Human Communication, Public Speaking, or Business and Professional Communication and other communication-related courses.\nAbility to integrate technology and classroom-related computer software and portals, including Blackboard for course delivery.\nEligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and require employer visa sponsorship.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPh.D. in Communication or Communication Studies.\nExperience teaching distance learning and/or hybrid courses.\nExperience teaching Communication Studies in a post-secondary setting.\nFor degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.\nAs a condition of employment, the following are required at the time of hire:\nSuccessful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).\n\nParticipation in a retirement plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position).
