Instead, you will be part of a busy, growing digital pharmacy focused entirely on getting medication safely and efficiently to our patients.\nWe are moving into a newly renovated, purpose-built pharmacy at Winnersh Triangle, giving our growing team a modern working environment with free parking on site.\nIf you are an experienced Accuracy Checking Dispenser who enjoys working at pace, takes pride in getting things right and wants to be part of a pharmacy environment that is continuing to grow and evolve, we would love to hear from you.\nWhat is the role?\nhat is the job?As an Accuracy Checking Dispenser at Montu, you will play an important part in making sure every prescription leaving our pharmacy is accurate and ready to reach the patient safely.\nYou will carry out the final accuracy check on dispensed prescriptions, working alongside our dispensers, pharmacy technicians, ACTs and pharmacists as part of a large and supportive pharmacy team.\nThis is a busy environment and we operate at significant scale, so you will need to be comfortable working at pace without compromising on accuracy. Attention to detail is incredibly important, as is having the confidence to stop, question something and escalate when it does not look right.\nYou will be trusted to use your judgement, take ownership of your work and understand the responsibility that comes with being the final check before medication reaches our patients.\nBehind every prescription we dispense is a person relying on us to get it right.\nWhat will you be doing?\nCarrying out final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions before medication is supplied to patients.\n\nChecking the right patient, medicine, strength, formulation, quantity and directions.\n\nEnsuring all labelling is accurate and appropriate.\n\nChecking that medicines have been assembled in line with prescriptions, SOPs, legal requirements and our internal processes.\n\nIdentifying and escalating discrepancies, near misses and potential dispensing errors.\n\nUsing your professional judgement and knowing when something needs to be referred to the Responsible Pharmacist.\n\nSupporting the safe checking of controlled drugs, unlicensed medicines and higher-risk medications in line with relevant procedures.\n\nCompleting expiry date, batch number and packaging integrity checks where required.\n\nMaintaining clear and accurate records of checks completed.\n\nWorking closely with dispensers, pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team to resolve queries quickly and safely.\n\nSupporting quality improvements and helping us continually improve the way we work.\n\nSharing your knowledge and supporting colleagues across the pharmacy.\n\nKeeping up to date with SOPs, regulatory requirements and best practice.\n\nWhat do you need?\nWe are looking for someone who is confident in their ability, comfortable working in a busy environment and takes real pride in accuracy.\nYou will need:\nAn accredited Accuracy Checking Dispenser qualification recognised for pharmacy dispensing practice.\n\nPrevious experience carrying out final accuracy checks within a pharmacy environment.\n\nA strong understanding of the dispensing process and the importance of each stage in preventing medication errors.\n\nGood knowledge of pharmacy legislation, SOPs, governance and patient safety.\n\nExcellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy when working at pace.\n\nConfidence to challenge something when it does not look right and escalate concerns appropriately.\n\nThe ability to work independently while understanding the boundaries of your role.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy pharmacy team.\n\nA proactive approach and willingness to take ownership.\n\nA genuine focus on the patient and the quality of care they receive.\n\nExperience within digital, online, high-volume or private pharmacy would be great, but it is not essential.
