Our ambition is to help solve the housing crisis and bring beauty back to the places we live. We are developing robots that can make intricate, high-quality construction affordable at scale. We are hiring our founding Robot Operators in the United States, starting with our first pilot in San Antonio, Texas.\nYou will help bring a system already used on sites in the Netherlands and the UK to a new market. As one of our first US operators, you will help establish how we work on site and give our engineering team direct feedback from the field.\nAbout the role\nThis is hands-on construction work with robots. You will move bricks and mortar, keep the robots supplied, set up equipment and clean the site. You will also operate the robots using Atrium, our in-house software, and work with our engineers when something needs fixing.\nNo previous robotics or construction experience is required. We are looking for practical people with technical intuition, an eye for detail and the initiative to solve problems. We will train you to operate our systems. This is a full-time role. Training starts at our headquarters in Amsterdam, with costs covered by Monumental.\nOur operators come from construction, retail, hospitality, events, farms, workshops and engineering. What they share is a preference for working with their hands and seeing the things they build.\nWhat you will do\nPrepare construction projects: understand the build plan and assess site conditions.\n\nPlace markers and take photos for 3D reconstruction.\n\nSet up and operate masonry robots using a laptop and our software.\n\nCarry and load bricks and mortar, move equipment and keep the work area safe and tidy.\n\nHelp with site tasks such as cutting bricks, setting wall ties and pointing walls.\n\nTroubleshoot with our engineering and operations teams.\n\nRecord problems and improvements so our engineers can develop the hardware and software.\n\nWork with the contractors and trades around you as the face of Monumental on site.\n\nWhat we are looking for\nA practical, technical mindset and a willingness to learn.\n\nComfort with physical work outdoors, early starts and changing site conditions.\n\nAttention to detail: the quality of the finished wall matters.\n\nInitiative when something does not go to plan.\n\nA valid driver’s license and comfort driving to construction sites.\n\nGood spoken and written English for working with our team.\n\nConstruction, maintenance or other hands-on experience is useful, but not required.\n\nLocation\nThis is an on-site role in San Antonio, Texas, starting with our first US pilot. You need to be able to work on construction sites in the San Antonio area. This is not a remote role.\nWhy Monumental?\nYou will be part of the team bringing our robots to US construction sites for the first time. The work combines physical building, technical problem-solving and direct collaboration with the people developing the robots. Your feedback will help shape the next deployment.\nLearn more about Monumental, Atrium and life as a Robot Operator.\nIf you do not meet every line above but enjoy building things and solving practical problems, we would still like to hear from you.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3237,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Construction Robotics","Construction"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-09T14:33:16Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 2 · green card filings: 1","filings_12m":2,"filings_prev_12m":1,"green_card_filings_12m":1,"median_offered_wage_usd":187500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-03T21:08:04+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)","US Department of Labor: PERM disclosure data (green cards)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":4,"expected_fill_days":32,"reasons":["conf:1","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-14T06:34:16Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":50000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/monumental-founding-robot-operator-us","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/monumental-founding-robot-operator-us.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-14T18:00:26Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":23183,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-15T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":174208},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=174208"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fmonumental-founding-robot-operator-us"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fmonumental-founding-robot-operator-us"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fmonumental-founding-robot-operator-us"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/monumental-founding-robot-operator-us\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fmonumental-founding-robot-operator-us"}]}
