The Site Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, manufacturing/process engineers, and technicians supporting circuit card assembly (CCA) production and new product introductions at our Salt Lake City Circuit Card Assembly plant. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will drive technical excellence, process reliability, and on-time delivery while operating within a lean, continuous-improvement culture. The role focuses on maximizing yield and throughput for SMT, through-hole, reflow/wave solder, AOI/X-ray inspection, and test processes while maintaining strict quality and ESD controls / programs. The Site Engineering Manager will operate within a lean, continuous improvement environment, consistently driving toward 100% Quality and 100% Delivery.\nThis is an on-site, collaborative working environment that offers a 9/80 schedule to include every other Friday off! (Formal schedule is Mon - Thurs, 7:00am - 4:00pm, every other Fri 7:00am - 3:00pm)\nAs our Engineering Manager, you will add incredible value to the team by holding responsibility for:\nLead and develop site engineering organizations. Supervise, coach, and mentor supervisors, engineers, and technicians; manage staffing, performance reviews, and career development.\n\nDefine, document, and optimize process flows for SMT, through-hole, conformal coating, soldering, inspection (AOI/X-ray), and in-circuit/functional test.\n\nLead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for yield, reliability, and field failures using structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC, 5 Whys).\n\nImplement statistical process control (SPC), capability studies (Cp/Cpk), DOE, and other data-driven methods to improve process stability and reduce variation.\n\nMaintain and improve compliance to industry and customer standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, MIL/AS/ISO/AS9100 as applicable).\n\nOversee equipment qualification, maintenance strategies, capital projects, and tooling/fixture design to meet production and quality goals.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Supply Chain/Purchasing, Program Management, and Design Engineering to resolve issues and drive program success.\n\nSupport customer engagements, including failure analysis, technical presentations, and proposals; act as engineering point of contact for customer escalations.\n\nPrepare and manage engineering budgets and project cost estimates; prioritize investments to align with site strategy.\n\nEnsure EHS and ESD program compliance across engineering activities.\n\nTo be considered for this Engineering Manager role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:\nEducation & Experience: BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.\n\n5+ years of Manufacturing/Engineering experience in Electronics/CCA assembly.\n\nHands-on experience with SMT processes (pick-and-place, reflow), through-hole soldering, AOI, X-ray, and electronics test (ICT/flying probe/functional test).\n\nDemonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.\n\nStrong problem-solving and data analysis skills; experience with SPC, DOE, and process capability analysis.\n\nFamiliarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and ESD control practices.\n\nExcellent communication skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, purchasing, and customers.\n\nCommitment to lean/continuous improvement principles.\n\nCompetencies & Attributes\nTechnical credibility with hands-on manufacturing experience.\n\nResults-oriented, decisive, and able to balance short-term production needs with long-term technical improvements.\n\nStrong mentoring and team development skills.\n\nCustomer-focused with a professional approach to escalations and technical discussions.\n\nComfortable leading change and promoting an inclusive, safety-first culture.\n\nIt would be great if you also had:\nIPC certifications (e.g., IPC-610, J-STD-001) or IPC CID.\n\nExperience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other regulated quality systems.\n\nSix Sigma Green/Black Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.\n\nExperience managing capital projects and equipment qualifications in a CCA environment.\n\nPrior experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other highly regulated electronics manufacturing.\n\nWorking Conditions & Travel\nOnsite, production-floor environment with standard PPE and ESD controls.\n\nMay require occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or other company sites.\n\nIn return, we care for you by providing incredible “work perks” including:\nFinancial Rewards: Great compensation package, bonus opportunities, matching 401k and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts\n\nWork/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance\n\nHealth & Wellbeing: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages\n\nProfessional Skills Development: Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs\n\nCollaborative and Welcoming Culture: Warm, respectful, family-like environment rooted in our 12 core values.
