Our products perform critical functions in flight control, engine control, and mission-critical aerospace applications where quality, precision, and reliability are paramount.\nWe're seeking a skilled EDM Setter / Operator to join our manufacturing team in Tewkesbury. Working within a high-performing production cell, you'll manufacture complex aerospace components using advanced EDM technology, including GF Agie Charmilles CUT P 350, CUT X 350 and FORM P 350 machines, supported by Mikron MILL S 200 U technology.\nThis is more than a machine operating role. You'll be trusted to take ownership of quality, solve technical challenges, support continuous improvement initiatives, and manufacture critical components that directly support aerospace and defence applications. You'll work alongside skilled engineers and machinists in a collaborative environment where precision, craftsmanship, and innovation are valued every day.\nWhether you're an experienced EDM specialist or a machinist with transferable precision manufacturing experience looking to develop your skills further, we'd love to hear from you.\nTo be considered for EDM Setter / Operator, here’s what you’ll typically bring with you:\nExperience setting and operating EDM machinery, or a strong background in precision machining and manufacturing.\nExperience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.\nThe ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.\nInspection and measurement experience using a range of metrology equipment.\nA proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.\nStrong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.\nThe ability to work independently and as part of a team.\nA positive attitude towards learning new equipment, processes and techniques.\nIt’s preferred if you bring:\nExperience with Wire EDM, Spark Erosion, or Form EDM processes.\nA recognised engineering apprenticeship or engineering qualification.\nExperience within aerospace, defence, automotive, medical, or other precision manufacturing environments.\nKnowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).\nExperience operating GF Agie Charmilles equipment.\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and continuous improvement tools.\nAs EDM Setter / Operator, you will:\nSet and operate Wire and Form EDM machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.\nProduce components to exacting quality standards and extremely tight tolerances.\nWork from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications, inspection plans and shop documentation.\nInspect components using a variety of manual and automated metrology equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.\nCarry out self-inspection activities and quality audits to achieve and maintain self-certification approval.\nAccurately record production and inspection data in accordance with company procedures.\nIdentify and help resolve manufacturing challenges, supporting problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.\nApply Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and standard work practices, to maintain an efficient and organised work area.\nCollaborate with engineers, quality personnel and manufacturing colleagues to achieve production, quality and delivery objectives.\nPerform routine preventative maintenance and machine care activities to support equipment reliability and performance.\nSupport initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery.\nShift Pattern:\nThis position operates on a rotating two-week AM/PM shift pattern and includes an 18.5% shift allowance.\nAM Shift\nMonday -
