This role serves as the technical bridge between Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing of electronic assemblies and products. The position drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports new product introduction (NPI), and implements process improvements that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.\nEssential Responsibilities\nManufacturing Engineering\nDevelop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process flow documentation.\nDesign and implement manufacturing methods to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.\nSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process development, tooling requirements, and production readiness reviews.\nEvaluate manufacturing capabilities and recommend equipment, tooling, and process enhancements.\nAnalyze production data to identify opportunities for waste reduction and cycle time improvements.\nCollaborate with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.\nIndustrial Engineering\nConduct time studies, labor analysis, and capacity planning activities.\nEstablish and maintain labor standards and manufacturing routing requirements.\nDevelop line balancing strategies to maximize productivity and minimize bottlenecks.\nAnalyze workflow, facility layout, material flow, and workstation design for optimal operational performance.\nSupport production planning through capacity modeling and resource utilization analysis.\nDrive initiatives focused on operational efficiency, labor productivity, and cost reduction.\nContinuous Improvement\nLead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and process improvement initiatives.\nUtilize root cause analysis tools including 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).\nDevelop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including:First Pass Yield (FPY)\nRework Rates\nScrap Rates\nLabor Efficiency\nOverall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)\nThroughput Performance\n\nFacilitate continuous improvement projects that support operational goals.\nQuality & Process Control\nSupport process validation and qualification activities.\nDevelop and maintain process documentation including control plans and process specifications.\nInvestigate manufacturing defects and quality issues to determine root cause.\nImplement process controls to ensure consistent product quality.\nPartner with Quality Engineering on corrective actions and process improvements.\nSupport internal and external audits as required.\nEquipment & Production Support\nSupport manufacturing equipment installation, validation, and optimization.\nDevelop tooling, fixtures, and workstation improvements to enhance productivity and quality.\nTroubleshoot manufacturing process issues and provide technical support to production teams.\nAssist in evaluating automation opportunities and advanced manufacturing technologies.\nSupport preventive maintenance and equipment performance improvement initiatives.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.\n5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or process engineering within a production environment.\nExperience developing and improving manufacturing processes.\nStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel for data analysis.\nAbility to analyze production data and present recommendations effectively.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or electromechanical assembly environments.\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.\nExperience supporting SMT, PCB, mechanical and electronic assembly operations.\nKnowledge of Space Addendum, J-STD-001, and electronics manufacturing standards.\nExperience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.\nProject management experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.\nStrong project management and organizational skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nEffective communication and presentation skills.\nStrong understanding of production metrics and performance management.\nAbility to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.\nData-driven decision-making capabilities.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in both office and manufacturing environments.\nAbility to stand and walk production floor areas for extended periods.\nOccasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.\nAbility to safely work around manufacturing equipment and machinery.\nSalary Range Transparency:\nPhoenix, AZ $92,000.00-$115,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer\nThe base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
