Job Summary\nThe Maintenance Caretaker is responsible for the overall cleanliness, and physical upkeep of the property and its buildings. This role combines hands-on technical maintenance with daily operational duties to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors.\n2. Key Responsibilities\nConduct routine maintenance tasks across various areas, including:\nBuilding Fabric: Handle minor carpentry, door hardware maintenance, office furniture adjustments, and paint touch-ups.\nPlumbing: Basic repairs to taps, toilets, clear blockages.\n Electrical (Non-Licensed): Assisting with basic electrical checks under supervision.\nGrounds Maintenance: Outdoor Maintenance: Maintain external pathways, courtyards, and parking areas by weeding, clearing leaves and clearing litter.\nWeather Response: Perform preventative gritting ahead of predicted cold snaps and snow clearing across entrances and driveways during adverse winter conditions.\nWaste Coordination: Monitor the central bin areas, arrange for proper waste disposal, and ensure bottle/cans return bin is emptied frequently.\nContractor Liaison: Assist in gathering quotes and escorting external trade professionals for repairs sitewide, issuing the permit to work and ensuring the facility is safe to return to use after works.\n Digital Literacy: Ability to use facility management systems, log maintenance tickets electronically, and respond to email queries.\n\nHelp maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work completed and materials used.\nAdhere strictly to all company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe working practices.\nMaintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas.\nUndertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the FEHS Manager Facilities Lead or Senior Maintenance Technician.\n3. Qualifications & Experience\nEducation: Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Experience in a trade or a facilities role is an advantage.\nExperience: Previous experience in a maintenance role, general labour, or similar practical work environment is preferred.\nDriving Licence: A full, clean Irish driving licence is required as the role may involve collecting supplies.\n4. Skills & Attributes\nPractical Aptitude: Experience in the use of hand and power tools is required.\nPhysical Stamina: Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.\nProblem-Solving: Basic ability to identify and report issues accurately.\nTeamwork: A strong team player, willing to follow instructions and work cooperatively with others as well as on own initiative.\nCommunication: Good verbal communication skills to liaise with colleagues and report information clearly.\nReliability & Punctuality: Dependable and committed to consistent attendance and punctuality is essential.\nSafety Conscious: A strong commitment to health and safety is imperative for the role.\n5.
