This operating group specializes in developing rugged fiber optic solutions, including cable assemblies and harnesses, that provide dependable performance in harsh aerospace, military, and industrial environments where reliability is critical.\nThe Manufacturing Process Engineer supports all products produced from design engineering through end-user support. The individual in this role performs various tasks for the Simplex and Complex cable production floors and the Transceiver production floor. These tasks are related to the manufacture, testing, and data collection of fiber cable and transceiver assemblies. In addition, the individual supports the mechanical design and documentation necessary to advance the production capability and throughput of our Operations Department. This position is key in the technical analysis (i.e., reliability, quality, and performance) of products in use by our Customers.\nThe person in this role will be responsible for one of the areas listed below. Additionally, this individual may also support areas outside of a primary area of responsibility.\nThe Manufacturing Process Engineer - Interconnects provides production support for the Simplex and Complex Fiber Cable floors.\nThe Manufacturing Process Engineer - Optoelectronics provides production support for the Transceiver floor.\nThe Manufacturing Process Engineer - Generalist provides additional interconnects and optoelectronics production and documentation support to each of the three floors.\nAs a Manufacturing Process Engineer, youwill:\nOperational Support for Production Floors\nMaintains up-to-date knowledge and skills in all fiber optic termination and transceiver processes, wire harness and transceiver design and assembly, and basic optical testing and inspection.\nProvides hands-on training of technicians on new or updated processes, including generation of training materials.\nSources, maintains, and repairs production tools, equipment, and fixturing.\nPerforms process analysis to improve production throughput.\nPerforms failure analysis, which includes evaluation, repair, and retest of inventory fallout and customer RMAs.\nProvides input for the workflow allocation of incoming sales orders.\nTechnical Documentation\nDesigns, creates, and manages CAD models and/or technical drawings for products and/or fixtures.\nCreates, maintains, and manages process and operation layouts, detailed work instructions and build procedures, assembly aids, and fixture/tooling relevant to production processes.\nGenerates and releases part numbers and BOM’s.\nERP System Management\nCreates, improves, and manages build procedures and BOM requirements.\nPerforms data analysis and generates reports relevant to production processes and throughput.\nEngineering Project Management\nBudgets time, cost, and resources for projects aimed at process and/or product improvement.\nCoordinates interdepartmental efforts and requirements for new product releases.\nOversees the introduction of new products (or components) to the production floor.\nSales Support\nCreates and/or verifies customer-use CAD models, technical drawings, etc.\nProvides input relating to manufacturability, lead times, and costs for products.\nProvides quality and technical support as it relates to internal or external ECNs and CARs.\nTo be considered for the Manufacturing Process Engineer role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:\nBS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering preferred.\nMust have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.\n3+ years of manufacturing and/or mechanical engineering experience or relevant experience.\n2 years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience with proficiency in SolidWorks preferred.\nWorking knowledge of engineering design and test.\nFamiliarity with PCBs, electrical/optical connectors and contacts and military specifications.\nKnowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 practices and documentation.\nProficient with common office productivity tools and equipment (i.e., Microsoft Suite).\nUnderstanding of fiber-optic cable and transceiver products and processes is preferred.\nHow We Care for You:\nFinancial Rewards: great compensation package, bonus opportunities , matching 401k, and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts\nWork/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance.\nHealth & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages.\nProfessional Skills Development: Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs\nCulture: Warm, respectful, family-like environment driven by our 12 core values.
