As part of our team, you’ll work on cutting-edge technologies that power next-generation aircraft.\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of software for advanced flight control and actuation systems. This role requires deep expertise in safety-critical software development, real-time embedded systems, and aerospace compliance standards. You will influence architecture decisions, mentor engineering teams, and ensure our software meets the highest standards of reliability and certification.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership: Define software architecture and technical strategy for flight control and actuation systems.\nSystem Design: Develop real-time embedded software for actuation systems and flight control computers.\nIntegration: Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with Moog’s actuation products.\nCompliance: Ensure adherence to aerospace standards such as DO-178C and ARP4754A throughout the development lifecycle.\nMentorship: Guide and mentor engineers, promoting best practices in safety-critical software development.\nQuality Assurance: Drive rigorous verification and validation processes for mission-critical software.\nQualifications\nExperience: 15+ years in software engineering, with significant experience in aerospace or safety-critical systems.\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems; experience with writing software for flight control electronics.\nArchitecture: Expertise in deterministic, fault-tolerant systems for flight control applications.\nRegulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of DO-178C certification and related standards.\nEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink).\nFamiliarity with ARINC standards and MIL-STD protocols.\nBackground in flight control actuation and fly-by-wire systems.\nWhat We Offer\nFlexible benefits package and development opportunities to support career progression\n33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)\nPrivate medical insurance, mental health support and financial advice\nGenerous life assurance and company pension contribution (from 6%)\nEmployee share options, free onsite parking and EV Charging\nYou Matter at Moog - Our Mission and Vision\nAt Moog, we prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion.
