The successful candidate will combine strong infrastructure engineering expertise with a passion for automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the global environment.\nIn addition to delivering infrastructure projects, you will help drive automation initiatives, develop technical standards, ensure compliance with security requirements, and contribute to the long-term infrastructure roadmap.\nYou will work on a hybrid schedule at our East Aurora, NY facility or our Blacksburg, VA facility.\nTo be considered for the Senior Systems Engineer role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\nMinimum of five (5) years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions within complex global environments.\n\nSignificant experience with enterprise virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere and related technologies.\n\nStrong understanding of enterprise hardware architectures and infrastructure technologies, including compute, storage, networking, and data center components, with the ability to assess design, performance, reliability, and lifecycle considerations.\n\nExperience evaluating, deploying, or supporting alternative virtualization platforms such as Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V, OpenShift Virtualization, or similar technologies is desirable.\n\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform.\n\nExperience developing automation solutions using PowerShell, Ansible, or similar tools.\n\nStrong understanding of server, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resiliency concepts.\n\nExperience integrating infrastructure platforms through APIs and automation workflows.\n\nSecurity-focused mindset with experience implementing secure infrastructure architectures and supporting recovery strategies.\n\nUnderstanding of IT Service Management and Agile methodologies (ITIL, SAFe, or equivalent).\n\nExcellent communication, collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skills\n\nAs a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:\nWork within a diverse, international engineering team to deliver innovative, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions.\n\nLead the design, implementation, modernization, and lifecycle management of enterprise virtualization platforms, server infrastructure, storage systems, and backup technologies.\n\nEvaluate virtualization platform strategy and future-state architecture, including assessment of emerging technologies and alternative virtualization solutions.\n\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and related technologies to standardize and automate infrastructure deployment and management.\n\nDesign and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, Ansible, APIs, and other automation frameworks to reduce manual operational activities.\n\nManage and execute infrastructure projects from architecture and design through implementation and transition to operations.\n\nDevelop reusable infrastructure modules, templates, and standards that improve consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency.\n\nEnsure infrastructure platforms can scale to meet future business demands and support global growth initiatives.\n\nCollaborate closely with storage, network, security, and operations teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.\n\nEnsure appropriate security controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements are incorporated into infrastructure designs.\n\nSupport business continuity and disaster recovery strategies through resilient architecture, backup, replication, and recovery solutions.\n\nProvide technical leadership and guidance during infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives.\n\nParticipate in the development of enterprise infrastructure standards, roadmaps, and strategic planning activities.\n\nDemonstrate advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
