In this role, you will provide technical and people leadership for a team of 6-8 engineers and interns while remaining actively involved in software development, system integration, and verification activities.\nReporting to the Site Test Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead engineers responsible for developing software solutions that support automated test equipment, hardware-in-the-loop systems, data acquisition, control systems, and simulation environments used on advanced aerospace programs. This is a hands-on leadership position, with approximately 60-70% of your time spent contributing to technical work and 30-40% focused on team leadership and development.\nYou will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days per week onsite) and a 9/80 schedule at our Torrance, CA facility.\nTo Be Considered for Software Engineering Supervisor, you'll typically bring:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical contributions to complex engineering projects.\nPrior leadership experience, either through direct people management or technical leadership of engineering teams and projects.\nExperience developing software using Python.\nExperience with software design, integration, debugging, and verification activities.\nAbility to work effectively in multi-disciplinary engineering environments.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and support technical teams.\nWillingness to travel occasionally (up to 5-10%) as project needs require.\nIt’s preferred if you bring:\nExperience developing software for automated test equipment, test stands, or hardware-in-the-loop systems.\nExperience with LabVIEW, dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar test and simulation platforms.\nExperience with data acquisition, instrumentation, automation, and control systems.\nAerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industry experience.\nFamiliarity with flight control systems, electromechanical systems, or closed-loop control systems.\nExperience supporting system verification and validation activities.\nDemonstrated success mentoring and developing engineers in a technical environment.\nExperience in a laboratory, test, or development environment involving integrated hardware and software systems.\nHands-on mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience.\nAs a Software Engineering Supervisor, you will:\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers and interns responsible for automated test system development and integration.\nProvide technical leadership for software architectures, development efforts, integration activities, and verification testing associated with aerospace test equipment.\nParticipate directly in engineering projects, contributing hands-on software development, troubleshooting, and technical problem solving.\nDesign, develop, and maintain software applications used for data acquisition, control systems, automation, and test execution.\nSupport hardware-in-the-loop, simulation, and automated test environments used to validate electromechanical and electrohydraulic flight control systems.\nCollaborate with site leadership and engineering managers to prioritize work, allocate resources, and ensure successful project execution.\nPerform software integration and verification activities utilizing both real and simulated hardware environments.\nDrive engineering process compliance while identifying opportunities to improve software quality, development efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.\nConduct performance reviews, support employee development plans, participate in workforce planning activities, and assist with recruiting and hiring efforts.\nPartner with systems, electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to deliver integrated test solutions that meet technical, schedule, and cost objectives.\nSupport the definition and implementation of software requirements while ensuring successful deployment and maintenance of software in operational environments.\nStay current with emerging software technologies, test methodologies, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.\nHow we care for you:\nFinancial Rewards: great compensation package, bonus opportunities , matching 401k, and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts\nWork/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance.\nHealth & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages.\nProfessional Skills Development: Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs\nCulture: Warm, respectful, family-like environment driven by our 12 core values.
