You'll play a critical role in maintaining and improving the production and development test equipment used to support both manufacturing and new product development. If you're energized by troubleshooting complex systems, modernizing legacy equipment, developing automation solutions, and improving how products are tested, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact across Moog's Industrial Group.\nTo be considered for Test Equipment Controls Engineer, here’s what you’ll typically bring:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n5+ years of experience supporting, designing, developing, or maintaining industrial test equipment, automation systems, controls systems, or complex manufacturing equipment.\nExperience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC-based control systems.\nExperience with industrial instrumentation, sensors, signal conditioning, measurement systems, and data acquisition hardware.\nHands-on experience supporting electromechanical, hydraulic, servo-controlled, or automated systems.\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.\nIt’s preferred if you bring:\nExperience developing or supporting PC-based test software, HMI applications, or graphical user interfaces.\nExperience with National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW.\nExperience integrating PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition platforms.\nExperience supporting manufacturing test equipment, automated test stands, or production testing environments.\nExperience modernizing legacy equipment through controls, automation, and software upgrades.\nFamiliarity with servo motors, motion control, closed-loop control systems, and industrial automation technologies.\nAs a Test Equipment Controls Engineer, you will:\nOwn the reliability, performance, configuration management, and continuous improvement of production test stands used to validate complex electromechanical, hydraulic, and motion control products.\nTroubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, instrumentation, controls, and software-related issues to minimize downtime and support manufacturing operations.\nDesign, build, modify, and upgrade production and engineering test equipment, including test stands, control panels, instrumentation systems, and data acquisition hardware.\nDevelop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems, automated machine logic, and integrated test equipment controls.\nCreate, maintain, and enhance operator-facing HMI and GUI applications that improve usability, efficiency, and data visibility.\nSelect, install, calibrate, and maintain sensors, transducers, instrumentation, signal conditioning hardware, and measurement systems used for product testing and validation.\nIntegrate PLCs, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, servo drives, motors, and other control hardware into automated test environments.\nSupport engineering development, qualification, and performance testing by configuring test setups, implementing instrumentation plans, and developing test methods.\nLead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to test equipment failures, measurement issues, and system performance concerns.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation including electrical schematics, control logic, operating procedures, calibration requirements, preventive maintenance plans, and software revision records.\nDrive modernization initiatives that improve automation, test capability, repeatability, safety, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness through hardware and software enhancements.\nPartner closely with Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure test systems effectively support both production and product development activities.\n\nHow we care for you:\nFinancial Rewards: great compensation package, bonus opportunities , matching 401k, and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts\nWork/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance.\nHealth & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages.\nProfessional Skills Development: Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs\nCulture: Warm, respectful, family-like environment driven by our 12 core values.
