Category Manager | London - Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office | Competitive Salary + Benefits

About the Role

For more than 20 years, Buyagift and Red Letter Days have helped millions of customers create unforgettable memories through experiences. Now, as part of Moonpig Group, we’re combining data, technology and creativity to build an even more dynamic, customer-focused experiences proposition.

We’re looking for a Category Manager to join our Commercial Partner Growth team in London. This is a hybrid role, with two days per week in our Central London office.

Reporting to the Head of Partner Growth, you’ll take ownership of a set of categories, shaping their commercial strategy and driving sales, margin, range and partner growth. You’ll balance hands-on trading with longer-term thinking, using data, customer insight, market trends and strong partner relationships to spot opportunities and improve performance.

You’ll also lead and support a direct report, work closely with teams across the business, and have the opportunity to help shape the future of the UK experiences market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the commercial strategy for your categories, setting clear goals across sales, margin, range and partner growth.
  • Use market trends, customer insight and data to identify opportunities and build a competitive, inspiring range.
  • Shape future category growth by testing new products, formats and price points.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product and Trading teams to deliver category plans and bring key moments to life.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with established and emerging partners.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, including pricing, commission and exclusivity agreements.
  • Work with partners to launch new products and create standout propositions that differentiate our offer.
  • Lead regular business reviews to track performance and agree joint growth plans.
  • Lead seasonal planning, product launches and campaigns across key trading moments, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas.
  • Analyse category performance and take action to optimise conversion, margin and customer satisfaction.
  • Use insight to identify quick wins alongside longer-term innovation opportunities.
  • Ensure product content and merchandising support strong presentation and conversion.
  • Inspire and support your direct report to deliver great results.
  • Champion commercial thinking, creativity and pace across the Partner Growth team.
  • Deputise for the Head of Partner Growth when required and represent the team across the wider business.

About You:

  • Proven experience in category management, buying or commercial partnerships, ideally within a marketplace or digital gifting environment.
  • Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to create and deliver growth strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confidence using data and insight to make decisions and improve performance.
  • Creative and curious approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
  • Collaborative approach, with energy, resilience and adaptability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where innovation is important.

Interview Process:

  • Stage 1: TA Screen - 30 minutes
  • Stage 2: Hiring Manager Screen - 45-60 minutes
  • Stage 3: Final Interview - 60 minutes with the Hiring Manager / Senior Stakeholder. Task details TBC.
  • Our process may vary depending on role and availability. We keep candidates informed of any changes.
