This role adds engineering capacity to the existing Systems Administrator and Network Administrator functions, providing broad coverage across systems and network infrastructure rather than specializing in a single technical vertical. \nThe role is primarily project- and engineering-focused: defining infrastructure requirements for new initiatives, leading infrastructure projects, and driving facility deployments from design through implementation and stabilization. The Infrastructure Engineer will also provide hands-on operational support when needed and help strengthen infrastructure reliability, security, documentation, and continuous improvement. \nKey Responsibilities \nInfrastructure Architecture, Projects & Facility Deployment \nDefine and design infrastructure requirements and technical approaches for new initiatives, facility rollouts, and infrastructure expansion projects. \nLead network and IT infrastructure projects from planning and design through implementation, validation, and transition to ongoing support. \nBuild and deploy infrastructure for new facilities, including the systems, network, connectivity, and core IT services required to support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations. \nProvide post-implementation support, stabilization, documentation, and continuous improvement after new infrastructure is placed into service. \nTake initiative and lead project work across the department, coordinating technical execution with team members and stakeholders without direct-report authority. \nSystems & Infrastructure Engineering \nDesign, implement, and maintain Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and virtualization (Hyper-V) environments to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. \nManage enterprise backup systems, disaster recovery validation, patching, and system hardening initiatives. \nMonitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance issues, and execute lifecycle planning for servers and core platforms. \nSupport SQL environments and develop automation/scripts (PowerShell preferred) to improve operational efficiency. \nNetwork Engineering & Connectivity \nMaintain and optimize firewalls, VPNs, switching, segmentation, and secure remote access infrastructure. \nLead network expansions, facility buildouts, and production floor connectivity improvements. \nPerform advanced network troubleshooting and root cause analysis to prevent recurring outages. \nEnsure secure and resilient connectivity across corporate, engineering, and manufacturing environments. \nOperational Support & Team Coverage \nServe as a flexible technical resource and backup across both systems and network administration functions to help address workload constraints and maintain team coverage. \nProvide Tier 2/3 escalation support and hands-on day-to-day infrastructure support when needed, while keeping project delivery and engineering work as the primary focus. \nSupport hardware deployment, lifecycle activities, documentation, standards, and repeatable operational procedures as team needs require. \nSecurity & Operational Resilience \nImplement and enforce access controls, endpoint protections, and network security standards. \nSupport vulnerability management, incident response, and remediation efforts. \nExecute identity and access management practices aligned with least privilege principles. \nAssist in disaster recovery testing and continuous security posture improvement. \nQualifications \n5+ years of hands-on infrastructure engineering, systems administration, network administration, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment. \nDemonstrated experience designing, building, expanding, and supporting systems and network infrastructure for new facilities, initiatives, or major infrastructure projects. \nStrong cross-functional knowledge of systems and networking, with hands-on experience in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Hyper-V, VPNs, firewalls, switching, backup, and disaster recovery. \nAbility to remain hands-on with implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support, while also leading projects and influencing technical execution without direct management responsibility. \nWorking knowledge of SQL and scripting, with PowerShell strongly preferred. \nSolid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, access controls, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. \nExperience supporting CAD environments, including SolidWorks 3D, SolidWorks Electrical, and PDM, strongly preferred. \nStrong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nEducation & Certifications \nBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred. \nCompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent experience preferred.
