Title: Safety & Compliance Manager\nLocation: Temple, TX\nReports To: VP Of Operations (TX)\nPrimary duties will include:\nSafety Programs & Compliance:\nDevelop, implement, and maintain company safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.\nConduct regular safety audits, workplace inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.\nMaintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, manuals, chemical inventory, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets).\nServe as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, coordinating inspections, compliance reports, and corrective action plans as needed.\nTraining & Employee Development:\nCoordinate and conduct safety training for all employees, including new hire orientation, ongoing education, and required certifications.\nTrack and manage employee safety training records, ensuring compliance with mandatory training schedules.\nOrganize and oversee safety drills (fire evacuation, hazardous material response, emergency procedures).\nProvide coaching and mentoring to employees demonstrating unsafe behaviors and recognize those exhibiting safe practices.\nIncident Management & Risk Mitigation:\nOversee workplace incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.\nTrack, analyze, and report trends in workplace injuries, near misses, and compliance issues, recommending improvements.\nAssist in post-accident procedures, including medical care coordination, drug screenings, return-to-work programs, and workers' compensation follow-ups.\nWork with management to develop corrective action plans and retraining initiatives for employees involved in safety violations or incidents.\nEmergency Preparedness & Facility Safety:\nMaintain and regularly update emergency response plans and ensure fire protection, first aid, and emergency equipment is operational and compliant.\nCoordinate vendors for facility safety maintenance, including fire extinguishers, alarm systems, ventilation, and PPE supplies.\nLead safety committee meetings and serve as a key point of contact for emergency response teams.\nContinuous Improvement & Culture Building:\nDevelop and promote safety incentive programs to encourage employee participation in workplace safety initiatives.\nFoster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees in safety discussions, providing recognition for safe behaviors, and addressing concerns.\nResearch and implement best practices to enhance workplace safety and reduce injury rates.\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements:\nRelated experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time.\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nExcellent planning and organizational skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office products\nAbility to work efficiently & effectively with internal team members, supplier partners, and industry professionals.\nSet work hours with some flexibility in the case of emergencies or special training needs.\nAbility to work independently with little to no supervision.\nBilingual in reading, writing English and Spanish preferred.\nPreferred education:\nBachelor’s Degree is preferred, High School Diploma required. \nWe will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.\nThe essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:\nAbility to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. without assistance.\nAbility to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.\nAbility to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer and perform repetitive tasks.\nAbility to hear sounds and differentiate between them.\nAbility to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.\nMooreCo
