You will be required to drive the delivery of personal tax advisory work, including writing reports and leading discussions with prospective and existing clients. You will also be required to oversee a team of junior staff who are responsible for day-to-day delivery of private client services across a diverse portfolio of individual clients.\nThis is a key role within our West End office, where you will be client facing and required to deal credibly and professionally with high net-worth clients and other professional advisors. As such, excellent technical skills are crucial; equally crucial will be your ability to impart complex tax technical information to non-experts.\nWe are looking for someone to actively manage the delivery of the private client offering for the team, including making suggestions for improving internal processes and efficiencies. This will include mentoring the team to develop their soft skills and providing technical training periodically.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide support to partners and directors in the effective running of the team and in winning new work.\nManaging a portfolio, consisting of a mix of clients with multiple sources of earned and investment income.\nDriving the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio.\nDealing with one off advisory and compliance assignments.\nA key point of contact for the client.\nDealing with partnerships and high net worth individuals.\nDealing with a wide range of capital gains tax issues.\nOverseeing the UK tax return filling process for a broad variety of clients.\nMonitoring team progress against targets.\nProviding feedback and giving input into staff appraisals, as well as direct responsibility for appraising staff.\nMonitor progress and encourage the personal development of all team members.\nAbility to produce written work to a high standard.\nMake suggestions and implement changes in order to improve efficiency within the team.\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nCTA qualified (or equivalent) with significant experience in private client tax.\nStrong technical knowledge of UK private client tax, including personal tax planning, anti-avoidance legislation and inheritance tax matters.\nExperience advising high net worth individuals, business owners, trusts and estates.\nProven ability to deliver both compliance and advisory services, including report writing and bespoke tax planning projects.\nExperience dealing directly with HMRC on complex enquiries, investigations, settlements and negotiations.\nStrong understanding of Self-Assessment, tax computations and broader private client tax compliance.\nAbility to build and maintain trusted client relationships, providing commercially focused and practical advice.\nPrevious experience managing, coaching and reviewing the work of junior team members.\nDemonstrable business development skills, including identifying opportunities, winning work and generating referrals across service lines.\nStrong organisational, communication and leadership skills, with experience managing deadlines, WIP and billing responsibilities.\nPlease refer to the full Job Description attached to this advert for a comprehensive overview of the role, responsibilities and requirements.\nBenefits","description_format":"text","description_chars":3332,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Audit & Assurance Firms","Accounting & Bookkeeping Services","Tax Advisory & Preparation"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-07T14:31:39Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker;
