At MPTC, we are in a unique position to impact our district communities, and we work diligently to hire candidates with aligned values and extensive skillsets to help move the mission of Moraine Park forward.\nPosition Summary:\nMoraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time adjunct Surgical Technology instructor to perform clinical site visits within the MPTC service area for the Surgical Technology program. This individual will perform at least one site visit per week in the Grafton area. Primary duties include communicating with students and preceptor/unit manager/etc. about progress toward competencies, guiding students in weak areas and grading student work. Candidates must have availability to work daytime hours, during the workweek.\nThe successful candidate will have a associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program and a minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience in either an operating room scrub role, as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, that has been acquired within the past five years. Candidates must also possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and licensing and/or professional organization involvement.\nJoin us at Moraine Park Technical College, where we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our students!\nResponsibilities:\nPrepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.\nMeet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.\nMaintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.\nProvide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.\nMay participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.\nAssist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.\nPromote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.\nMaintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.\nActively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.\nExperience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):\nUpon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.\nDesired Qualifications:\nDemonstrated ability to speak and write in English and Spanish in professional settings.\nOther Position Requirements:\nMust satisfactorily complete health screen requirements, which may include criminal and caregiver background checks, drug test and/or verification of immunizations.\nFlexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.\nThis position may require teaching and/or travel to other MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions. \nMust possess a valid driver’s license.\nHiring Range: Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 -
