Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.\nResponsibilities\nJob Summary:\nThe Lab Technician will support laboratory operations by preparing components and performing routine assembly work, running and maintaining equipment, conducting tests and assisting in brazing research and development efforts. This role requires hands-on work with materials, precise measurements, and complete adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working with complex equipment, chemicals and gases.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPrepare, assemble, test, and analyze production brazed assemblies according to established procedures.\nOperate and maintain laboratory equipment, including furnaces, ovens, measurement tools and ultrasonic cleaners.\nPerform visual inspections and document findings using photography and basic image analysis.\nRecord and maintain accurate data in physical and digital logs and reports.\nEnsure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of chemicals and materials.\nAssist in troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.\nPrepare production assemblies for shipment by collaborating with other departments to prepare certificates, package hardware and generate documents.\nAssist in brazing research and development efforts. \nDesire to learn vacuum furnace technology, braze alloy production, brazing fundamentals.\nAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.\nWork inside or near vacuum furnaces following safety protocols.\nDesire to learn vacuum furnace technology, braze alloy production, brazing fundamentals.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a science or technical field preferred.\nPrior experience working in a laboratory in some manner.\nFamiliarity with measurement tools such as calipers, drop gauges, and micrometers.\nBasic computer skills for data entry and reporting.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline.\nPrior experience in a research and development laboratory, quality inspection department and manufacturing facility.\nPrior experience working with vacuum equipment, high temperature ovens and furnaces.\nPrior experience with stereoscopes, visual analytical techniques and basic imaging fundamentals for documentation and reporting.\nAbility to do basic troubleshoot equipment and processes.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments in the facility.\nIndividual must be a:\nCitizen of the United States, or\nPermanent resident alien of the United States, or\nProtected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15\nSalary Range: $30 - $35 hourly DOE\nPosition is 100% onsite in Hayward, CA\nThis job description does not state or imply that all duties to be performed are specifically identified above.
