Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.\nResponsibilities\nAbout the Opportunity\nMorgan Advanced Materials is seeking a skilled and hands-on Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team in Auburn, California.\nThis position is ideal for someone with a strong machining background, excellent mechanical aptitude, and a passion for solving technical challenges.\nAs an Engineering Technician, you will work closely with Engineering and Production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, improve processes, develop tooling solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nIf you enjoy working in a hands-on manufacturing environment where your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills make a direct impact, we encourage you to apply!\nKey Responsibilities\nTroubleshoot machining and manufacturing issues to support production efficiency and product quality.\n\nAssist with equipment tooling, repairs, modifications, and upgrades.\n\nSupport product development and manufacturing process improvements.\n\nCollaborate with Engineering and Production teams to design, develop, and implement tools, fixtures, and production aids.\n\nCreate CAD models and technical drawings to support tooling development and manufacturing solutions.\n\nIdentify opportunities to reduce setup times, improve processes, and increase productivity.\n\nProvide technical guidance and training to production operators on equipment and manufacturing processes.\n\nParticipate in team-based problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.\n\nCollect and analyze manufacturing data to identify process variation and improvement opportunities.\n\nMaintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and operational excellence.\n\nQualifications\nQualifications & Experience\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nMinimum of 8 years of experience in a machine-shop environment or related technical capacity.\n\nExtensive hands-on experience with manual and/or automated machining equipment.\n\nStrong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machining fundamentals, including feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.\n\nExperience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and surface plates.\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.\n\nWorking knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.\n\nBasic understanding of manufacturing quality principles and statistical process control (SPC).\n\nStrong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\n\nProficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and technical documentation.\n\nPreferred:\nAssociate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n\nExperience with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.\n\nKnowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T / ANSI Y14.5).\n\nExperience with precision metrology equipment, including coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), video microscopes, and laser micrometers.\n\nFamiliarity with Six Sigma concepts, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R).\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nWork is performed primarily in production and machining environments.\n\nMust be comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and moving between production areas.\n\nPosition requires frequent standing, walking, and hands-on equipment interaction.\n\nMust be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.\n\nRequired personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as applicable.\n\nOvertime and occasional holiday work may be required based on business needs.\n\nExport Compliance Requirements\nThis position involves access to information and technology controlled under U.S. export regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and NRC requirements.
