This includes specialist work like lapping, polishing, and tool sharpening.\nIt’s not just about running equipment, you’ll get involved in setups, inspections, and troubleshooting when things aren’t quite right.\nWhat you’ll do\nSet up and run a range of machines including lapping, polishing, and tool grinding\nUse cutting tools such as diamond grinding wheels\nRead and interpret blueprints and work instructions\nWork to tight tolerances (down to four decimal places)\nCarry out first-piece inspections to make sure work meets spec\nSpot and troubleshoot mechanical issues on machines\nKeep your work area clean and organized\nFollow all safety procedures (non-negotiable)\nPitch in with other tasks as needed\n\nQualifications\nWhat you’ll bring\nHigh school diploma (or equivalent)\nExperience with machining equipment, tools, and gauges\nAbility to read and understand blueprints and tolerances\nBasic math skills (algebra and geometry, nothing too exotic)\nConfidence setting up and operating machines, not just running them\nA detail-focused mindset-especially when working to tight tolerances\nMechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills\nA willingness to learn new machines and processes\nWhat you’ll get\nSchedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Friday 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.\nCompetitive pay for the area\nVariety in your day-job mix changes daily\nOpportunities to learn new skills and cross-train across machines\nOvertime is usually optional, but regularly available if interested\nClimate-controlled manufacturing environment\nA supportive team and solid shop culture\nWork that isn’t overly physically demanding\nCandidates must be a US Person, defined as an individual that is a:\nCitizen of the United States, or\nPermanent resident alien of the United States, or\nProtected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15\nThis job description does not state or imply that all duties to be performed are specifically identified above.
