Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.\nResponsibilities\nMajor Responsibilities:\nTechnical support to a functional area of the Green End processing (i.e. flour prep, molding, kilning, impregnation, sintering, etc.). Develop, implement, and manage the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure continuous production of advanced ceramic and composite materials that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. Ensure that these manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment meet or exceed the requirements of our ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100D Certifications and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. Perform roles and responsibilities in accordance with direction from the Process Engineering Manager.\nEssential Functions:\nAssumes the role of primary technical support for an assigned functional area, could require travel between two sites.\nIndependently communicates with supervisors, technicians, operators and managers to identify and correct causes of process disruptions.\nIdentifies opportunities to improve existing processes and takes initiative to propose and implement solutions in a timely manner when possible.\nWrites and presents proposals for larger scale process improvement opportunities including cost/benefit analysis.\nWrites and submits capital expenditure requests.\nLeads small-medium capital expenditure projects for functional area of responsibility.\nWorks with suppliers to identify and test new materials, equipment and software that could improve performance or reduce operational cost.\nLeads cross functional project team in functional area focusing on continuous improvement.\nSupports cross functional teams focused on continuous improvement projects for assigned and other functional areas.\nSupports the sales and application teams as needed to help with customer complaints and new business opportunities.\nConducts thorough investigations into scrap events and dispositions questionable material in a timely manner.\nAssists in training shop floor associates on manufacturing processes and methods.\nContinually works to learn and share knowledge about functional area.\nActively looks for opportunities to link and test theoretical knowledge in application.\nAudits and updates technical specifications as needed in compliance with quality systems\nKeeps procedural documentation for functional area up to date and in compliance with quality systems.\nPresents data and reports using various formats and technologies (i.e. PowerPoint, Minitab, Excel, Teams, etc.)\nFunctions as a leader in safety: observing all safety practices, promoting positive safety culture, and holding safety as a core value in the execution of all other responsibilities.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:\nB.S. degree in Material Science or Engineering is desired and often required.\nPrior experience working with manufacturing processes that utilize raw material handling, mixing, molding, and high temperature baking equipment (mixers, presses, ovens, etc.) is preferred.\nBasic understanding of quality management systems is required.\nKnowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is desired.\nExperience with developing/documenting procedures is required.\nComputer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office.\nCandidates must be a US Person, defined as an individual that is a:Citizen of the United States, or\nPermanent resident alien of the United States, or\nProtected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15\n\nAdditional Requirements:\nQuality orientation and high attention to detail.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.\nExperience working with high performance teams.\nProblem analysis and problem resolution skills.\nMust be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.\nMust be able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments of the Company.\nMust be able to work well with external contacts of the Company.\nMust have good time management, planning and negotiation skills.\nMust adhere to all Company policies.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be capable of sitting and using a computer for the majority of an 8-hour workday.\nMust be able to lift 35 pounds.\nMust be capable of traveling within the US and Internationally.\nThis job description does not state or imply that all duties to be performed are specifically identified above.
