This is a Java Software Engineer position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for a function, complex project tasks and other initiatives.\nSince 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.\nWhat you'll do in the role:\nContribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.\n\nInteract regularly with team members located in different regions and occasionally with leadership on a range of topics.\n\nMentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and direction.\n\nArchitect solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.\n\nDrive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.\n\nCollaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmap and technical strategy.\n\nImplement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.\n\nContribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.\n\nMaintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.\n\nStay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.\n\nWhat you'll bring to the role:\nBachelor's degree in computer science or related field.\n\n5+ years hands-on experience with Java, Spring, RDBMS.\n\nStrong object oriented design and development skills, data-structures and algorithms, and design patterns.\n\nExcellent analytical ability.\n\nStrong experience with relational databases logical modelling.\n\nStrength in querying large relational databases in an optimized manner.\n\nA culture of incorporating unit test cases when designing systems using Junit.\n\nAbility to write scripts in Shell/Python.\n\nStrong collaboration and communication skills.
