This is a Lead Engineer position at Vice President Level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintains software solutions that support business needs.\nSince 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.\nWhat you’ll do in the role:\nDevelop and maintain data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.\nWork with structured and unstructured data to ensure it is accessible and usable.\nOptimize data systems for performance and scalability.\nImplement data quality and data governance standards.\nCollaborate with stakeholders across technology and business units to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions and provide data-driven insights.\nContribute to the documentation and knowledge sharing within the team, creating and maintaining technical documentation and training materials.\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of development processes.\nContribute to the broader data architecture community through knowledge sharing, presentations.\nWhat you’ll bring to the role:\n10+ years of being a practitioner in data engineering or a related field.\nAt least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.\nGraduate degree in Computer Science, Information System or equivalent field\nProficiency in programming skills in Python\nExperience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Hadoop.\nKnowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).\nExperience working on Snowflake OR Databricks.\nWorked on GenAI projects. Hands-on knowledge of SF Cortex or DBX Genie will be a bonus.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their data services.\nUnderstanding of data modeling and data architecture principles.\nExperience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.\nExperience with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).\nExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git).\nExperience using Jupyter notebooks for data exploration, analysis, and visualization.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a geographically distributed team.\nPreferred Skills:\nFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).\nFamiliarity with data governance and security best practices (e.g., data access control, data masking).\nExperience with Agile methodologies.\nFamiliarity with data catalog and metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra).\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. \nWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:\nAt Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients - helping them reach their goals.
