As a team, we:\nConsult and collaborate with cloud-native (AWS, Azure) and self-hosted application teams to deliver and operate reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications\nAutomate provisioning of non-production environment for application development and testing\nDesign, operate, and manage development toolchains and CI/CD pipelines to meet objectives for high-velocity delivery while also meeting control requirements\nBuild and maintain container orchestration on Kubernetes\nProvide observability via monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Sentry etc.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nThe Lead Platform Engineer will partner with cloud-native application development teams with direct business alignment - empowering them to deliver quality software at high velocity, rapidly receive actionable feedback, and cultivating an environment of continuous experimentation. Additionally, the Lead Platform Engineer will create reusable components and workflows that deliver superior developer experience.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\nFunction as subject matter expert in the areas of delivering and operating reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications\nServe as a technical lead for key initiatives, influencing technical strategy, driving best practices, and ensuring successful delivery of business objectives.\nMentor and develop team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and constructive technical guidance.\nWork with the development teams to design, document, create and maintain highly available systems\nPartner with the application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and tooling\nCreate an environment of continuous experimentation and learning\nContribute to evolution of our architecture (cloud-focused) to increase its flexibility and ease of use\nFollow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate\nShare experience, knowledge, and ideas with the team to improve processes and productivity\nProvide tier 2 and 3 escalations for related issues and questions\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree required\n8+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering (i.e., DevOps, SysOps, SRE) experience with a proven track record of people and thought leadership to achieve strategic objectives\n8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native solution architectures and related platform support, i.e., Cyber Security, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Observability\nServe as technical lead for strategic projects, providing architectural guidance, driving technical decisions, and ensuring alignment across teams.\nInfluence engineering standards, best practices, and technology direction while mentoring and developing less experienced team members.\nPartner with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into scalable technical solutions.\nAbility to dive deep and get hands-on to contribute to platform engineering solutions\nExpertise in automation strategies for cloud-native solutions (pipelines, IAC, test suites)\nProven experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms\nExperience implementing IAC - Terraform preferred\nExperience using GitHub and engineering YAML based ci/cd pipelines\nExperience implementing and operating container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) \nDeveloper enablement mindset with an ability to collaborate across technology teams \nExperience with Vulnerability Management tooling (SAST and SCA scanning) integration with SDLC toolchain\nExperience using Gen AI tooling for software development and testing productivity\nExpertise scripting with Python, BASH, PowerShell\nParametric believes each member of our organization makes a significant contribution to our success.
