We also offer systematic alpha and alternative strategies to complement clients' core holdings.\nThis role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.\nABOUT THE TEAM\nThe Platform Engineering team is part of Parametric IT's Developer Experience department at Parametric and is vital to developer enablement and system reliability in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). As a team, we:\nConsult and collaborate with cloud-native (AWS, Azure) and self-hosted application teams to deliver and operate reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications\nAutomate provisioning of non-production environment for application development and testing\nDesign, operate, and manage development toolchains and CI/CD pipelines to meet objectives for high-velocity delivery while also meeting control requirements\nBuild and maintain container orchestration on Kubernetes\nProvide observability via monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Sentry etc.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nThe Senior Platform Engineer will partner with cloud-native application development teams with direct business alignment - empowering them to deliver quality software at high velocity, rapidly receive actionable feedback, and cultivating an environment of continuous experimentation. Additionally, the Senior Platform Engineer will create reusable components and workflows that deliver superior developer experience.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\nFunction as subject matter expert in the areas of delivering and operating reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications\nWork with the development teams to design, document, create and maintain highly available systems\nDesign, implement, and manage centralized monitoring solutions that provide expedient actionable feedback to the development teams\nPartner with the application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and tooling\nCreate an environment of continuous experimentation and learning\nContribute to evolution of our architecture (cloud-focused) to increase its flexibility and ease of use\nFollow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate\nMentor new or less senior members of the team\nShare experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve processes and productivity\nProvide tier 2 and 3 escalations for related issues and questions\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related area of study\n5+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering (i.e., DevOps, SysOps, SRE) experience with a proven track record of people and thought leadership to achieve strategic objectives\n5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native solution architectures and related platform support, i.e., Cyber Security, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Observability\nAbility to dive deep and get hands-on to contribute to platform engineering solutions\nExpertise in automation strategies for cloud-native solutions (pipelines, IAC, test suites)\nProven experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms\nExperience implementing IAC - Terraform preferred\nExperience using GitHub and engineering YAML based ci/cd pipelines\nExperience implementing and operating container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) \nDeveloper enablement mindset with an ability to collaborate across technology teams \nExperience with Vulnerability Management tooling (SAST and SCA scanning) integration with SDLC toolchain\nExperience using Gen AI tooling for software development and testing productivity\nExpertise scripting with Python, BASH, PowerShell\nParametric believes each member of our organization makes a significant contribution to our success. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
