We partner closely with Finance Technology, Controllers, Regulatory Reporting, Infrastructure, and Development teams to provide reliable production support, drive automation, improve resiliency, and enhance the overall operational health of critical business systems.\nAs part of Morgan Stanley's ongoing technology transformation, we are expanding our Production Engineering capabilities in Asia. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, technology, automation, and operational excellence while supporting systems that are critical to the firm's financial and regulatory obligations.\nBased in Tokyo, you will play a key role in supporting and improving Finance Technology platforms across the Asia-Pacific region, helping ensure reliable service delivery and driving continuous improvement through automation and engineering.\nWe would like to talk to you if you:\nEnjoy solving complex production and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment. \nHave a strong sense of ownership and take pride in delivering reliable outcomes. \nAre passionate about automation and reducing manual effort through engineering solutions. \nLike collaborating with global technology and business teams to solve problems. \nAre curious, proactive, and continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes and systems. \nThrive in a team-oriented environment where knowledge sharing and collaboration are valued. \nAspire to grow as an engineer, teammate, and leader. \nYour responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:\nProviding production support and operational oversight for Finance and Regulatory Reporting applications across the Asia-Pacific region. \nMonitoring critical business processes and responding to production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective stakeholder communication. \nLeading root cause analysis efforts and driving sustainable fixes to recurring issues. \nPartnering with development, infrastructure, and business teams to improve platform stability, resiliency, and service quality. \nDeveloping automation solutions using scripting and modern tooling to reduce operational risk and improve efficiency. \nIdentifying opportunities to improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational processes. \nSupporting financial reporting workflows to ensure adherence to business deadlines and service level commitments. \nDriving continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, operational excellence, and engineering best practices. \nRequired skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. \nStrong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills with experience identifying and resolving complex production issues. \nStrong Unix/Linux administration and debugging experience. \nSolid SQL skills with the ability to investigate data issues across complex application and database environments. \nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise applications in a production environment. \nExperience performing incident management, root cause analysis, and service restoration activities. \nHands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms Ex: AppDynamics, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar tools. \nExperience with automation and scripting using Python, Shell, Perl, Ruby, or similar technologies. \nStrong understanding of operational risk management and production support best practices. \nDemonstrated ability to take ownership and drive issues through resolution. \nPreferred skills\nExperience supporting Finance, Product Control, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, or Accounting platforms. \nKnowledge of ETL processing frameworks and data integration technologies. \nExperience working with Autosys or similar enterprise job scheduling platforms. \nFamiliarity with cloud technologies and modern platform engineering concepts. \nUnderstanding of data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and financial reporting workflows. \nKnowledge of ITIL service management principles and operational excellence practices. \nExperience working within Agile delivery environments. \nExposure to AI-assisted operations, automation, and intelligent monitoring solutions. \nWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:\nAt Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients - helping them reach their goals.
