What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineer in New York, New York todesign and develop large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services. Develop software services to onboard trading and post-trading workflows for various asset classes including Equity and Options on distributed system architecture. Design and Implement Order State Management related components for Trading platforms. Conduct scrums and handle deliverables. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Master’s in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field of study

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Assistant Manager Technology, Technology Lead, Systems Project Manager, Technology Specialist, or related occupation in the technology field

-The employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience as an Assistant Manager Technology, Technology Lead, Systems Project Manager, Technology Specialist, or related occupation in the technology field in lieu of a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

• Java;
• Linux;
• Unix;
• Kafka;
• MQ;
• SQL;
• JDBC, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design concepts;
• Relational Databases;
• Unit testing;
• performance testing;
• Git;
• Perl or Shell Scripting;
• MS SQL Server;
• Redis;
• NoSQL databases;
• Spring Framework;
• XML;
• Distributed messaging;
• Multi-threaded server-side development;
• Web Services (RESTful and SOAP); and
• Apache Camel.

-Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skill:

• JMS.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $198,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
