Join our team and grow with us!\nAs the Lead Software Development Engineer at PitchBook, you play a pivotal role as the engineering voice for a stream aligned team.\nPitchBook’s Lead Software Development Engineer is responsible for being the engineering voice for a stream aligned team, make the suite of products we offer the very best by building systems that are a combination of cutting-edge frameworks, tools, languages, cloud technologies, and people. This role drives projects from design to implementation to maintenance with an eye for scalability, reducing technical debt, and accomplishing company goals.\nPrimary Job Responsibilities:\nManage, mentor, and lead a small team of software engineers.\nEvangelizes better technical practices and continually raises the bar for technical excellence across the company. \nEnhance large-scale distributed systems for website crawling and information extraction.\nUse cloud technology to create robust and scalable software systems.\nWork directly with Product, UX, and Data Science teams to build cutting edge tools.\nHelping establishes best practices around software development, microservices, and devops.\nSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.\nParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.\nSkills and Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a similar field. \n8+ years in Software Development or Engineering roles. \n8+ years of hands-on in Java/ Web-services / Spring / Spring Boot / react JS or any front-end framework.\nFull Stack Developer.\nExperience and desire to work directly across function and geography with product and design counterparts and be the point of contact for all technical related activities for the team.\nHighly proficient in RESTful API design.\nHighly experienced working within a development team in an Agile environment.\nAbility to handle a project through the entire software development lifecycle, end to end.\nDemonstrate ability to lead and/or provide guidance to junior peers within the team.\nExperienced with web technologies and standards (e.g., JSON, JWT).\nExperienced with Relational Databases (MSSQL, Postgres).\nExperienced with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nFamiliarity with Container orchestration software (e.g., Kubernetes).\nExcellent communication skills, written and verbal.\nStrong problem-solving ability.\nFamiliarity with architecture trade-off analysis methods and domain-driven design preferred.\nLeverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, claude, Cursor, Continue, or similar code generation platforms to enhance development velocity and code quality. Drive adoption of AI augmentation practices across development teams while maintaining security and best practice standards\nWorking Conditions\nThe job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day.
