Morningstar is one of the largest independent sources of fund, equity, and credit data and research in the world, and our advocacy for investors’ interests is the foundation of our company.\nThe Role:\nMorningstar Managed Investment Data Team seeks a (Senior) Data Consultant / Data Relationship Manager to champion Morningstar data capabilities in India. The employee will represent Morningstar’s data capabilities to clients and industry groups and return the voice of the local market back to the global and central teams. In this role you are responsible for identifying new data opportunities and will collaborate with teams across the company to define and execute upon Morningstar’s unique value proposition in response to industry trends.\nThe (Senior) Data Consultant / Data Relationship Manager plays a significant role in ensuring that Morningstar’s offering in the managed investments space exceeds industry expectations. The managed investments space includes, but is not limited to, Managed Funds, Insurance funds, ETF’s, Separate Accounts, Models, and other emerging investment vehicles and marketplaces. All data sets including returns, portfolio and ESG data are within the scope of this role. The position will be based in Mumbai, India, and report to the Data Director, Managed Investment Data - Asia Pacific.\nResponsibilities\nManage relationships with Indian fund companies and third-party administrators. Visit fund companies and providers to set up acquisition channels as well as acting as a point of escalation when such channels are failing.\nData expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations & different fund structures.\nPromote Morningstar data at a local level to internal & external clients. Produce materials to assist retaining & obtaining business.\nPartner with sales, product & support teams on the prospect discovery process & lead generation and serve as the subject matter expert to address data inquiries.\nCollaborate with members of the Global Data teams to align priorities based upon local business requirements.\nConduct business analysis & manage projects focused on enhancing our database in order to meet changes in our industry and client’s needs. \nBring back voice of client for data or process enhancement. \nMonitor competitor behavior, trends and services in order that Morningstar are well placed to act on any opportunities that may arise.\nMonitor local asset management industry trends, regulatory movements, and transform them into implications to Morningstar data business.\n.\nRequirements\nCandidates should have a strong interest in the investment world, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills. More details as follows.\nA minimum of 5-7 years of experience, with demonstrated ability to foster successful external relationships with asset managers, regulator, and third-party data providers.\nSolid understanding of the Indian investment management industry and passionate about investment data.\nExpertise in Morningstar managed investment data, methodology, processes and quality.\nAbility to demonstrate client centric approach.\nExcellent English written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong learning ability; interested to learn the complex structure of numerous investment vehicles.\nSelf-motivated, independent, strong organizational and problem-solving skills.\nA bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or equivalent is required.\nExcellent capabilities with MS office and Advance Microsoft Excel is required.\nPrevious experience in Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) and relationship management role is highly preferred.\nPrior experience in Morningstar products and services is a plus.\nMorningstar is an equal opportunity employer\nMorningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to collaborate in-person each week as we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis.
