Eligible employees receive a free system-wide transit pass and discounted access to other alternative transportation modes to provide options for commuting to work.\nThe Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is seeking a student intern for the Central Ohio Greenways program to assist with planning and research related to active transportation and sustainability. Applicants will develop skills in regional trail, greenspace, and active transportation planning. The applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Central Ohio Greenways Planning Studio Lead in the Planning Department.\nExamples of Duties:\nAssignments will include working with MORPC staff to assist local government members and Greenways partners with various projects, including:\ncollecting, summarizing, and analyzing data related to active transportation and trails\nmeeting and event preparation related to the Central Ohio Greenways Advisory Council, Trail Towns of Central Ohio members, and other Working Groups; and,\nmaintaining the Central Ohio Greenways social media and website.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience conducting independent research and presenting information to various audiences, as well as working collaboratively on projects. This internship will require field work in various conditions (such as setting up automated pedestrian and bicycle counters).\nTypical Qualifications:\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nThe position requires strong communication skills (both written and verbal), analytical/research skills, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of MS Office is essential.
