Specific emphasis of the role includes building, onboarding and managing specialized computing platforms, installing and configuring scientific applications, and customizing system configurations to meet and exceed scientific demands.\nMajor accountabilities & Key Activities\nOnboard new PCs and workstations to requested specifications, integrate the hardware, install and configure the operating software and ensure visibility to the network in accordance with the Novartis Standards and security guidelines.\nUtilize defined tools and templates and ensure correct methodology is used to reduce the impact on scientist’s daily work.\nManage and execute lab equipment integration and ensure compliant processes are applied to satisfy business and Novartis needs.\nWork directly with the scientists to understand their lab processes, data flow, infrastructure and research data in order to identify their informatics needs.\nProvide business analysis and technical expertise for the planning and definition of requirements, implementation and delivery phases of lab related IT projects.\nCreate, track and close service tickets while delivering an excellent customer service experience with professionalism and confidence.\nAccountable to ensure adherence to quality standards as defined by Research Informatics (RX) organization.\nExperience\nDegree in computer science or equivalent work experience\n5+ years of progressive experience with hands on troubleshooting and support for Windows (Win10/Win11/Win11IoT) systems\nExperience in Biotech or Biopharma as it relates to scientific instrumentation/vendors, software applications and systems\nExperience working with scientific instruments, plate readers, mass specs, liquid handlers, gene sequencers, purification systems, imaging instruments (In-Cells, Microscopes, Bia-Core etc..)\nExperience working with endpoint management software such as Altiris and Simple Help.\nFamiliarity with Imprivata or other Single Sign-On platforms.\nStrong customer service attitude and solution orientation with ability to respond to changing needs and priorities quickly and efficiently\nExceptional troubleshooting skills and experience supporting nonstandard software\nScripting experience\nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively to peers and customers\nStrong English communication skills\nLocation: San Diego, CA (Fully Onsite)\nShift timings : Mon-Fri 8-5 or 8:30am - 5:30pm\nPay Rate: $36.42 - $43.57/Hour W-2 Only (based on Education/Experience)\nContract: 18-month\nHealth, dental, vision, 401k (provided minimum eligibility hours are met)\nWhy Novartis:\nHelping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
