Please read on…\nPostgraduate in Process Analytical Sciences - Automation & Digital Transformation\nWe are seeking a highly motivated recent MSc or PhD graduate who is passionate about applying programming, automation, robotics and digital technologies to advance scientific workflows and transform laboratory operations. In this role, you will work at the interface of science and technology, supporting analytical development activities while helping to accelerate the automation journey our labs. You will contribute to process improvements, digital innovation initiatives and the development of next-generation laboratory workflows across the organization.\nMajor responsibilities:\nDevelop and implement programming solutions supporting laboratory automation and robotic platforms.\nSupport implementation and programming of liquid handling and robotic systems.\nCollaborate with scientists and engineers to identify opportunities for process simplification and increased efficiency.\nProvide hands-on support to laboratory teams as needed\nContribute to the design, optimization and deployment of automated laboratory workflows.\nLead or support work packages within automation and digitalization projects.\nAnalyze laboratory processes and propose innovative solutions to improve productivity, quality and user experience.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives across laboratories.\nSupport adoption of emerging technologies, including automation, robotics and AI-enabled solutions where applicable.\nEssential Requirements:\nMSc or PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Automation, Robotics or a related field.\nStrong programming skills in Python or similar scripting languages.\nDemonstrated interest in automation, robotics, digitalization or computational problem solving.\nGood command of English (oral and written)\nExcellent collaboration and communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to independently drive tasks and deliver results.\nDesirable requirements:\nExperience with laboratory automation, robotics or liquid handling systems (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton).\nExperience with data analytics, AI or digital applications.\nBasic project management experience through academic, industrial or extracurricular projects.\nKnowledge of protein analytics or biological laboratory workflows.\nPassion for continuous improvement and innovation.\nWorkload: 40 hours/week\nRole type: Onsite\nRequired start date: January 2027\nContract: 11 months\nWhy Novartis:\nHelping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
