As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our dynamic work-winning team.\nPurpose of the Role\nWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Bid Writer to support the successful delivery of high-quality tender submissions across our Environment Business.\nWorking closely with Bid Managers, operational teams and Subject Matter Experts, you will be responsible for developing compelling, client-focused content that clearly communicates Galliford Try's capabilities, experience and value propositions.\nThis role is critical to helping us secure new work, grow our market presence and deliver against our strategic business objectives.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs a Bid Writer, you will:\nDevelop high-quality written submissions in line with client requirements and evaluation criteria.\nDraft, edit and review bid responses to ensure clarity, consistency and compliance.\nUndertake detailed reviews of tender documentation and bid deliverables.\nSupport bid planning and coordination meetings throughout the tender lifecycle.\nEnsure the delivery of high-quality qualitative responses within agreed submission deadlines.\nWork closely with operational teams to clearly define bid responsibilities and response requirements.\nEngage with Subject Matter Experts across the business to develop compelling, evidence-based submissions.\nEnsure compliance with Galliford Try Business Management System (BMS) processes and procedures.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the bid function.\nSupport the development of innovative approaches to bid writing, including the use of AI-enabled tools and technologies where appropriate.\nAbout You\nWe're looking for a skilled communicator who can transform technical information into engaging, submissions.\nEssential Skills & Competencies\nExceptional written communication and proofreading skills.\nExcellent verbal communication and presentation skills.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.\nExcellent organisational and time management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.\nStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.\nCollaborative and proactive approach to team working.\nAbility to interpret technical and operational information and convert it into compelling bid responses.\nWorking knowledge of AI tools and AI Agents to support content development and bid efficiency.\nStrong Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.\nQualifications & Experience\nMinimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English.\nSignificant bid writing experience, ideally within the construction, infrastructure, utilities, engineering or energy sectors.\nProven experience of developing successful tender submissions for major projects or framework opportunities.\nExperience working with multidisciplinary teams and Subject Matter Experts.\nUnderstanding of public and private sector procurement processes is advantageous.\nFull willingness to travel domestically as required.\nWhat You'll Bring\nA passion for producing
