If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nFire Alarm Designer - Asset Intelligence\nLocation - Warrington (Headquarters) Hybrid working model and Site travel\nSite Locations:\nScunthorpe, Grimsby, Boston, Lincoln.\nWe are looking for someone who is happy to travel across these areas with hybrid working.\nWhat you will be doing:\nAn opportunity has arisen for a Fire Alarm Designer to join the team Asset Intelligence at Galliford Try.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most prestigious frameworks, with a focus on driving project success through effective commercial governance.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign & Technical Delivery\nDevelop fire alarm and detection system designs based on client requirements and site surveys\nProduce detailed design documentation including: Detector layouts, PA/VA systems, and zone drawings\nCause & effect, loop schematics, panel layouts\nFire strategies and calculations\n\nEnsure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g. BS5839, BS6266, BS7671, BS7273)\nValue engineer solutions to balance cost-effectiveness with compliance and performance\nProvide technical input into subcontract design packages and supplier orders\nProject & Stakeholder Management\nLead or support site visits, surveys, and 3D model reviews\nAct as a point of contact for subcontract designers\nReview subcontractor designs, pricing, and specifications for accuracy and quality\nCollaborate closely with internal teams to support tender submissions and project delivery\nManage design changes and ensure adherence to scope and change control processes\nQuality & Compliance\nEnsure all design processes and procedures are followed\nContribute to design management plans and design programmes\nSupport fire accreditation documentation\nAssist with smooth handover to construction and commissioning teams\n\nAbout You:\nProven experience in fire systems design, including detection, PA/VA, suppression, and fire stopping\nStrong knowledge of system integration and fire equipment\nFamiliarity with BIM / PAS 1192 and navigating 3D models\nExperience producing technical documentation (URS/FDS)\nKnowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works\nProficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office\nONC / HNC / Degree or NVQ equivalent in a relevant discipline\nOrganised, proactive, and detail-oriented\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nCommitted to delivering excellent customer service\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.1 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
