Its employees consistently rank Moss as one of the best places to work.\nPOSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT\nMoss Energy is seeking a skilled Commissioning Technician to support the startup and delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This role is responsible for executing commissioning activities across electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient project energization.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, and power distribution equipment\nExecute NETA-based testing (Megger (insulation resistance), VOC Testing, VLF, TTR) to validate system performance and integrity\nSupport system startup, energization, and troubleshooting of both AC and DC components on solar and BESS projects\nInterpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams to verify installation and resolve field issues\nCoordinate with construction, and SCADA teams to ensure proper system integration and communication\nDocument commissioning activities, test results, and turnover packages in accordance with project and industry standards\nMaintain strict adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes, and site requirements\nImplement, control and execute energy isolation procedures (LOTO)\nEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE\nExperience commissioning electrical systems in solar, BESS, or utility/industrial projects\nStrong knowledge of electrical testing methods and equipment\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and control logic\nHands-on troubleshooting and field execution experience\nWillingness to travel to project sites as needed\nThis position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to handle loads exceeding that amount with assistance. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, loud noise levels, and extreme temperatures.
