This role provides leadership and direction for the Engineering Management team within Moss's solar and renewable energy EPC business, translating organizational goals into portfolio strategy, resource planning, and partner engagement frameworks.\nThe Senior Director is accountable for the engineering portfolio's overall success, including client satisfaction, Engineer of Record (EOR) strategy, talent planning, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment. Serving as a key partner to executive leadership, this individual drives portfolio performance, delivery predictability, and commercial outcomes while ensuring the organization is positioned to scale effectively.\nWorking through Directors and Senior Managers, the Senior Director empowers leaders to oversee day-to-day portfolio execution, EOR performance, and the standardization of engineering processes and best practices. While operational responsibilities are delegated, this role retains ultimate accountability for departmental performance and serves as a trusted advisor to the Vice President on strategic priorities, organizational effectiveness, and portfolio health.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDefine team portfolios, regional assignments, and resource strategy.\nCoordinate with Preconstruction Management and Business Development on future project pipeline strategy.\nOwn hiring strategy and execution, including 6-month and 1-year workforce plans.\nDefine and track OKRs and 90/180-day plans for the organization.\nOwn the EOR strategic relationship, including MSA review and contract standardization.\nDefine roles, responsibilities, and governance frameworks across the Engineering Management organization.\nDrive stakeholder services strategy and build trust with Owners, Trade Partners, EORs, and internal teams.\nResolve major commercial, multi-stakeholder, and project-level escalations with sound judgment and a bias for action.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field required.\nMaster's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration is preferred.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or comparable technical credential is preferred.\n15+ years of progressive experience in engineering, design management, or construction, including significant experience in the solar or renewable energy EPC sector.\n10+ years leading engineering or project teams, with proven accountability for portfolio-level commercial and delivery outcomes.\nDemonstrated experience managing external design partners or Engineers of Record, including contract negotiation, MSA governance, and performance management.\nTrack record of building and scaling teams to match pipeline growth across multiple regions and owners.\nStrategic leadership: ability to set direction, define governance frameworks, and translate enterprise goals into executable portfolio strategy.\nCommercial acumen: manages contracts, budgets, and value engineering with discipline and price competitiveness in view.\nStakeholder alignment: builds trust with Owners, Trade Partners, EORs, and internal teams across Preconstruction, Procurement, and Construction.\nTalent development: owns hiring strategy, coaches Directors and Senior Managers, and builds bench strength for the function.\nDecision quality: resolves complex, multi-stakeholder escalations with sound judgment and a bias for action.\nFort Lauderdale-based: Willingness to travel as required to support portfolio oversight and stakeholder engagement.\nRemote-based: Ability to travel 50% to Fort Lauderdale to visit the office for team building, company and client meetings, and to support portfolio oversight and stakeholder engagement.\nJOB TITLE: SENIOR DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT\nJOB LOCATION: FORT LAUDERDALE, FL OR REMOTE with 50% TRAVEL\nCLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME - EXEMPT - SALARIED\nREPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT, ENGINEERING\nMossis an equal opportunity employer.
