You will inspect incoming materials, in-process assemblies and finished products, manage non-conforming material and support investigations and continuous improvement. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality colleagues, you will help ensure our products meet customer, regulatory, IPC and internal quality requirements.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nCarry out incoming, in-process and final inspections on PCB assemblies, metal assemblies and finished products.\nComplete visual, dimensional and functional inspections against drawings, specifications, control plans and work instructions.\nIdentify and control non-conforming material, including segregation, labelling and status control.\nRaise and maintain non-conformance reports, defect records and quality alerts.\nSupport failure analysis and root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone and 8D.\nHelp verify that corrective and preventive actions have been implemented and are effective.\nSupport process, product and layered process audits.\nMonitor and report quality measures, including defect trends, scrap, rework and first-pass yield.\nHelp ensure measuring and test equipment remains within calibration.\nWork collaboratively across Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Supplier Quality to resolve issues and maintain standards.\nWhat we’re looking for\nExperience in a manufacturing, quality inspection or production environment.\nConfidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and inspection criteria.\nPractical experience of visual, dimensional and functional inspection.\nKnowledge of non-conformance control, containment and defect reporting.\nA good understanding of problem-solving tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone analysis.\nAn NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent practical experience in engineering, manufacturing or quality.\nKnowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001 or ISO 9001 would be an advantage.\nStrong attention to detail, sound judgement and clear communication skills.\nWhat we can offer you\nIn return for everything you bring to the table, we can ensure an exciting, challenging role in a dynamic business surrounded by some of the best people in their respective fields.\nAt Motion Applied we firmly believe it’s the relationships and friendships we create while working that make us special.
