In this team you'llhave a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key cloud and edge device initiatives.\nYou also have opportunities to go through the whole lifecycle of products and services, participatingin each phase and have the whole picture of what you are working on.\nAs an engineer who is passionate about technology, you will use the most effective and applicable technologies to create robust and scalable software that runs in the cloud or on the edge.\nYou will work on a variety of challenges towards product or solution deliverables, often highly complexand based around mission critical systems that combines capabilities like data streaming, aggregation, asset management, monitoring, reportingand visualisation.\nPrincipal Accountabilities\nAs a Senior Data Solutions Engineerwho is passionate about technology, you will use the most effective and applicable technologies to design, create and improve the CI Data Platformoffering and integrateit with\noperational products.\nYou will learn how to leverageexisting open-sourcesoftware to extend our capabilities, integrating and tailoring software to suit customers’ needs.\nYou will champion architectural and technical good practise across the analytics and software development teams, from initiation throughthe wholeproduct lifecycle.\nLocation\nThis role is based at our head office in central Woking. The role is included in our hybrid working policy with the expectation of a minimum of twodays a week in the office, which should be co-ordinated with other members of the Engineeringteam.\nBasic Qualifications\nWe are looking for an applicant who has:\nBachelor's degree in a numerate discipline: Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering.\nExperience in solving engineering or real worldproblems using data solutions.\nDemonstrable interest in the fields of data analyticsand software\n\nProficiencyin Python programming language and common data science packages.\nExperience with data engineering tools (e.g. Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Kinesis, Snowflake, Apache Airflow)\nExperience in building data pipelines and data streaming applications.\nExperience with tools to support the software and analyticsdevelopment workflow (e.g. data provenance, experiment/pipeline management, git, CI/CD)\nInterest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed\nGood understanding of agile or lean development practices. \nAbility to write and speak in English fluently\nDesirable& Development Areas\nSome of the below would be beneficial to the applicant, but opportunities to develop in these areas will also be provided:\nDemonstrable technical specialism in one of the following: Data Science, Machine Learning, Optimisation, Operations Research, Statistics, AI Engineering.\nLeveraging latest AI and Agentic tooling to assistin all stages of the development lifecycle\nExperience in building data storage solutions\nFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)\nUnderstanding of containerisation (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)\nDemonstrable experience of writing clean, maintainablecode. \nExperience with AWS or other cloud computing providers\nExperience with signal processing and time-series analysis\nWhat we can offer you\nIn return for everything you bring to the table, we can ensure an exciting, challenging role in a dynamic business surrounded by some of the best people in their respective fields.\nAt Motion Applied we firmly believe it’s the relationships and friendships we create while working that make us special.
