With views along the Monongahela river, the Pittsburgh office is in the heart of this new state of the art development.\n\nMission Summary:\nOur Vehicle Platform Components team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to assume ownership of the development and integration of the autonomous vehicle’s vision sensors. This position serves as the primary technical owner for the development, validation, and production readiness of our vision sensors. The incumbent will ensure that sensors adhere to all functional requirements and quality standards, and will support sensor delivery to satisfy all performance, cost, and timing objectives.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and manage component-level technical requirements throughout the program development lifecycle.\nLead technical collaboration with component suppliers, serving as the internal technical expert for the component.\nEnsure all components comply with specifications for performance KPIs, safety, and reliability.\nGuarantee that components adhere to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.\nCollaborate with Design Release Engineers to ensure components meet the overall product's program targets and goals.\nCollaborate with Systems Engineers to confirm that component requirements satisfy system needs and that selected components integrate seamlessly into the overall system architecture.\nResponsible for validating component functionality through hands-on testing conducted at both the bench and vehicle levels.\nLead issue resolution with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams in a timely and effective manner.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n7+ years of experience in automotive component design, development and integration.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Optoelectronics (or a related field).\nDemonstrated knowledge of optical systems, encompassing the construction and design of camera components.\nExperience with machine vision camera design, development and integration.\nUnderstanding of high-throughput Image Signal Processing (ISP) pipeline design and implementation.\nExperience with automotive communication protocols including CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, GMSL, and FPD-Link.\nProficiency in Linux, including the ability to develop scripts (e.g., Python, C++) for testing, validation, and interaction with camera hardware.\nFamiliarity with NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin / Thor architecture and developer kits.\nExperience with lab equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators.\nProficiency in automotive diagnostic tools, including Vector tools (CANoe, CANape, vFlash).\nExperience with automotive environmental, EMI, and shock/vibration testing.\nExperience in root-cause analysis, with a focus on utilizing AV / ADAS vehicle logs to pinpoint sensor impairments that negatively affect autonomous system performance.\nFamiliarity with automotive components validation documentation and procedures, such as DVP&R, DFMEA and PFMEA.\nExperience with requirement compliance, issue-tracking and task management software platforms such as JIRA, Polarion, Confluence, etc.\nDemonstrated experience collaborating with an automotive Tier-1 supplier on the technical development of electronic components.\nUnderstanding of vehicle integration, packaging, and functional safety standards (ISO 26262)\nBonus Points:\nPrior experience in automotive vision sensor hardware and software integration or ADAS technologies.\nPrior experience in an autonomous vehicle or robotics company.\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs.
