The FP&A team has responsibility for the financial operations of the 5 Lines of Business (LOB), including planning, analysis, risk management and control, process optimisation and business performance enhancement. You will be a key member of the leadership team for an LOB, fulfilling the role of Finance Business Partner.\nThe FP&A team supports the Accounting, Control and Governance team to ensure Motive’s financial reporting is accurate, timely and complies with Lumine best practices and corporate policies. You will play a critical role in creating and delivering the changes Motive requires to establish and strengthen the business. This role will suit someone who thrives in a changing environment, acting as a catalyst for that change, and is willing to go beyond reporting the figures and challenge the Leadership Team to be accountable for their performance and remain focused on growth.\nThe ideal candidate will have started their career and qualified at a medium-large accounting firm, before progressing into industry working in a multi-entity finance function as a Financial Controller or Financial Analyst. You will be adaptable, keen to learn, businessminded, seeking to apply your skills in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment. Exposure to software industry related accounting, project accounting and M&A experience will be an asset.\nPersonal Attributes:\nLead as a Business partner, driving performance through KPIs, challenging the Business to exceed goals\nEnsure financial integrity, accuracy and policy compliance\nImplement change to improve efficiency, effectiveness, profitability and cash flow.\nLead and support others to engage through belief in the strength of the business and their part in it\nSupport the creation of a respected and high performing Finance function\nStrategy:\nSupport the LOB Leader and functional managers to develop clear business plans, priorities, and forecasts in line with corporate targets and best practices.\nEvolve financial processes, systems, and policies to ensure scalability, the availability of accurate and timely data to make the best business decisions, and to comply with regulations and corporate governance requirements.\nOperations:\nResponsibility for the LoB’s monthly and quarterly financial reporting.\nEnsure reported Revenue, Deferred Revenue and WIP for the LOB is fully supported and auditable against IFRS15 principles at a per project level.\nManage Sales Commissions accounting and payments for the LOB\nOwnership of the Planning and Forecasting cycle including “Quarterly Strategic Review’ (QSR) forecasting process, and ‘Quarterly Business Review’ (QBR) review process.\nMonitoring and reporting the health of Bookings, Backlog and Book-to-Bill.\nFinancial leadership and application of best practices to processes, people and systems to affect revenue, profitability, forecasting and cash-flow; improving operating efficiency and performance.\nRecommend and lead efforts to improve business performance as reflected by operating ratios and working capital.\nResponsible for the accuracy of the LOB’s Net Revenue (revenue recognition and cost of sales completeness), applying IFRS and Company policies.\nEngage in regular professional services project reviews, ensuring risks are identified and percentage of completion revenue recognized in compliance with company best practice.\nResponsibility for Risk Management process review, policy standardization and process improvements.\nOversight and improvement of effective financial processes and systems with the LOB.\nProvide Finance input to legal for vendor and customer contracts\nWork closely with all functional leads to ensure projects bids and contract terms, financial and otherwise, adhere to corporate parameters\nParticipate in or lead Finance department projects to implement new systems and process improvements\nAs part of a small Finance team supporting a fast-paced business, the FBP will be expected to support the wider Finance Organization on tasks outside of the core responsibilities herein, as discussed and agreed with the Director of Finance, to ensure adequate coverage at peak times and holiday cover.\nKey Skills & Competencies:\nHolds an Accounting Qualification (CPA or similar).\nDemonstrates strength in application of current technical accounting knowledge.\nUnderstanding of project accounting and software accounting concepts.\nAbility to perform analysis on data, deliver insightful observations and valuable recommendations.\nGood business acumen and ability to influence leadership, strategically and operationally\nWillingness and ability to travel internationally from time to time (expected less than 10%).\nDemonstrates ability to communicate and work with the business as a business partner.\nProven ability to work independently and manage multiple shifting priorities in a fastmoving environment.\nWork Experience Requirements:\nExperience of multiple entities / countries / currencies within a Group organization.\nUnderstanding of project accounting and software accounting concepts\nStrong on use of accounting/ERP software, comfortable with Microsoft Office tools.\nEligibility Requirements\nMust be eligible to work in the country identified as the employment location\nLocation: Ontario (Remote)\nSalary: 80k-105K\nMOTIVE gives equal opportunity in employment regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, or any other factor.\nBy answering to this job post, you consent the use of your data by MOTIVE, for as long as necessary.
